I still remember back in the days before internet and spoilers and leaks, when I thought buffy was over because she died in season 5...seeing the ORIGINAL TEASER of S6, on a random commercial break, of her hand bursting up from her grave...omfg little me was SO FRICKEN EXCITEDDDDDD. I was obsessed with this show. I remember running to my mom in the next room, saying " MOM...BUFFY ISN'T OVER ! THERE'S ANOTHER SEASON ! " 😅
Season 6 is probably my second favorite season. It did a fantastic job of depicting Buffy's depression and her desperation to find meaning in life, something that most young adults go through at some point in their lives. Willow's decent into darkness was something that had been foreshadowed for a long time and it was great to see her obsession with magic finally have some serious consequences. Yeah the Trio were annoying, but they really weren't the main antagonists of the season. In season 6 "Life" is the Big Bad, as most of the struggles the Scooby Gang faces are internal. I especially loved "Once More With Feeling", "Normal Again", and "Villains".
I really liked it too! A lot of people didn't including Sarah Michelle Gellar herself she felt like buffy's behavior was completely out of character but like you said it really went deep into the character's complexity, harsh realities of life and the challenges that young adults face in terms of defining their identity and going into adulthood (depression, identity crisis, denial, facing responsabilities)
@@DaveVampireSlayer I know it is a bit meta and can seem 'cheap' as a final little 'hahaha but what if??' but I take it more as representing Buffy finally letting go of that part of her that wishes for a way out and it shows that she is finally ready to truly face her real life and problems. When they say that there is no sign of her anymore in the hospital it means that all of her is now in reality. I don't know if that makes sense but that's how I see it.
Season 6 is one of my favorite seasons things got personal and everyone broke down, instead of facing and battling evil together the gang deals with realistic, personal, and harsh realities. This is also the season were there is no big battle at the end.
This season is very polarizing among fans. Personally I found it to be amazing. For sure my second favorite season. (5 takes the top spot for me). Such an honest, raw look at the dark side of life and the troubles that come with entering adulthood.
Love love LOVE this season. I love the idea of the heroes becoming the big bad. They were all their own worst enemies. Joss & co. really dug down beneath the surface for this season to reveal the dark, powerful and very human depths of the characters.
I'd say the darkest season of Buffy, but then it's directly followed by Season 7, so that's really difficult to judge. This is definitely my favorite of these trailers, though. :D
I really don't get all the hate all the later seasons got. For me they only got better with time and season 6 might even be the one I love the most because it was about us, human and the issus we have with dealing with our problem/addiction/depression/etc... Yeah it was dark, but they needed to go there. This season add so much layer to the show I just can't believe some people would have wanted it differently... ok yeah some things could have been different (like the Trio...really i used to skip every time they pop on my screen... lol i still do it but it's less frequent), but really I am more than fine with how it is. You don't change the end or the course of an epic story like I dont know..say Romeo n Juliet.... there's a point for everything in a story (when it's an intellignet and a good one). AND FOR THE VIDEO : all your trailers are awesome and this one is my fav. every time i get nostalgic i come see video on youtube yours always come up in my list to watch: EPIC !
jacaq jr Season 6 is regarded as one of the best. Season 7 is the season most hate as it was just poor. Spike and Buffy saved season 7 from complete failure
+Illusionz Man the only good thing about season 7 was the development of the relationship of Buffy and Spike plus the drama with the principal and having Faith back.
I've never seen Buffy before. I am working my way through the seasons and just finsihed season 5 (which was incredible) but season 6 looks even better!
Season Six was absolutely amazing! But so were 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7! The only even mediocre season for me is the first one. That's why Buffy is my all-time favorite show.
Willow ultimately proves to be the most interesting character when you look at how she starts out in beginning of the show and how she turns out in the comics. Without giving away spoilers, I'll just say that season 6 foreshadows her legacy.
A lot of people don't understand that Buffy was in denial about her feelings for Spike, and that was in large part because he didn't have a soul at that point. Her depression and self-loathing was also a factor. And yes, Spuffy was and IS (in the comics now) a love story. An unconventional love story, but a love story nonetheless. Season 7 was his redemption and Buffy coming to terms with the love she has for him. When she said she loved him, she meant it.
People forget that Spike has been capable of love since long before he ever got a soul. His feelings for Drusilla have always been genuine. The demon soul of a vampire does not take away the capacity for good feelings, it simply brings forth highly evil feelings along with them. It's a fusion between two beings, not one taking over the other... no matter how much the series' main cast insist that Angel and Angelus are so different.
I love Season 6. It had 'The Bargaining", "Once More with Feeling...", and "Smashed", and "Crushed", which are awesome, and then the last 4 episodes that are the Finale, that deal with Willow losing herself in witchcraft and the Black Arts.
I just watched all six of these in a row and I still can't believe how amazing they all are. It's so sad to think that the next one is the last one. They're all so well made and I love how you make the logo at the end the same color as the box set. Can't wait for season 7.
Awesome trailer! I loved Season 6. Sure, it had some bad episodes, but there were some amazing ones as well! Plus I'm a die-hard Willow fan, so I liked how it focused a lot on her and Dark Willow was EPIC! Still, Tara's death makes me cry every time :'(
Oh, Poor Watcher. Did your life flash before your eyes? Cup 'a tea, cup 'a tea, almost got shagged, cup 'a tea? DIED XD Spike is sooo funny. Epic trailers.
Two Words for this one....Best Yet! Man you just keep getting better and better at this. Thanks for all the time into this Vid it was worth the wait and I can't wait for Season 7's!
OMG that was brilliantly EPIC I don't know how you do it, but these are fantastic and genius!!! :D I loved every second of it, just drawing out Willow's darker side more and more. And then of course love the relief quote, "cup of tea, cup of tea, almost got shagged, cup of tea." XD
i love this show&miss it!!!!!!!!!! can we goo back plzzz! willow the big bad that season! awesome glad i came across this show back 97 of march 10 yahoo! my fave season is 6 for sure& the rest just rule as well
That's actually NOT accurate at all ***** . Charmed was about 3 witches who kicked ass. and maybe it wasn't as good as Buffy in the long run, but most people who bashed on Charmed only said what they said because of what they "heard", and what they "heard" is not what they've seen. There was action in every single episode of charmed, and to be honest, the relationships in the show are what made it so special. In Buffy we didn't get to see in depth relationships between the characters, where as in Charmed, we got to see every thing detail in their relationships--good and bad. We got to see them grow as people and characters, where as at the end of Buffy...Buffy was still the Slayer, Giles was still the nerdy Watcher, Xander was still the human, and the only person that really grew was Willow as a witch. Charmed had it's flaws, like the storyline which lacked consistency, but where Buffy was flawed, Charmed picked up the slack for Buffy. I suggest you watch it in it's entirety, because I can almost PROMISE you that your opinion will be MUCH different from what you've "heard".
Great trailer, this is my favorite season, although season 5 was also very good. This season has: "out of the box" enemies, the music episode (best music episode ever of any show and best episode of the series in my opinion), it has the mental crazy episode, many funny episodes, all with a very correlated storyline full of drama and emotions, an story that is not so buffy centered as other seasons.
i believe this was the last season i saw and then i just stoped watching, and i don't think i even watched all the episodes. I use to love this show, i just bought season 1 and im going to buy them all.
6th season was the best :D it began with some awsome episodes and the finale with the bad willow was ... i don´t know a word for it but i was like "woahhhhh" everytime i watched it
This was excellent! My one request is that you make some trailers that aren't so spoiler-ish because I like to show my friends to pump them up for the next season while we are watching on DVD for their first time. The scenes with Willow turning evil and the scenes with Spike and Buffy really give A LOT away.
Ahh the memories! I need to revisit this show .. ' did your life flash before your eyes? Cup o' tea, cup o' tea, almost got shagged, cup o' tea ..' LMAO
Season 6 is an AMAZING season, I don't think a lot of people liked it for the simple fact it was darker than the previous seasons, but who wants a show to stay exactly the same? I sure as-hell don't, I applaud Joss for taking the show and the characters into darker depths, and I think out of it we got some of the series best episodes, "Normal Again" comes to mind.
My theory is, if giles wasn't around spike would be. He has the knowledge of demons and underworlds stuff. Angel to me cared more for buffy like a big brother would towards the end, spike was head over heels with her more than angel.
Please can anyone tell me what the name of the song that starts at :58 is? It fits so perfectly with that scene with Will and Giles especially the "don't piss me off part", and escalates the rest of the vid
