Literally tho! Spike is 100% the better man & I hate how everyone literally treats him like garbage. Thankfully by the end Buffy is sweeter to him but I don’t get why everyone is so awful to him throughout the series

Spike was a pure hearted human who craved a little bit of excitement. That is why it is easier for him to show love in his own way but unfortunately without a soul it hard to control the demon part of him that why in season 6 he either breaking or helping buffy. Angel was a good man, too, when he was human, but he was also repulsive. When he became a vampire that all he was repulsive, but when he got a soul, he basically became a good part of his human self.

@@films2611 Firs-first it was in the end of 18 ep. of season 5, «Intervention». First big kiss in 7 ep. of season six, «Once More, with Feeling». And in this video is the third one :)

So I was like 6 when Buffy originally aired so I really didn’t catch an episode until S6 of course the only episode I had remembered back then was Smashed… I wonder why lol but did people really see potential in them back in S2 before it was considered canon that Spike was in love with Buffy subconsciously? Btw I’m always a die hard Spuffy shipper so lol ❤❤❤❤

i mostly agree, the first kiss was season 5 but then omwf they werent under the spell anymore so that is the first real kiss even if its the heat of the moment, that how a lot of first kisses go

I dont usually kiss people on the lips to say thank you.. I think it was more than that in Intervention. This was a man she wanted 'nothing to do with" only a few episodes earlier. Wanted to make it clear that there was never, ever a romantic shot with her...then kisses him on the lips the second he does something good for her. 😆

@@Sinmerina true. I feel like subliminally buffy was physically attracted to him even when she was freaking out over him loving her, otherwise she would not have kissed him in Intervention. Willow was telling her a few episodes earlier that any slither of hope could make him obsessive with her, she agreed and yet....she still kissed him on the lips hours after she found out he made a sex bot of her. She would never have kissed Xander as a thank you because she had absolutley no romantic feelings for him and wouldn't ever want to offer the promise of any by doing that. With spike though....

Exactly! I can’t blame Buffy for being paranoid after all her endurances with Angel. That’s why she turned Riley down in the beginning. Buffy gm felt she couldn’t trust anyone. I would be one more picky too. But I’m glad the writers made them canon in the comics

Well, she did kiss him while pretending to be the Buffy boy after he almost was killed protecting Dawn. It was pure and honest. And it was a thank you. This was pure passion.

@@ceceliam9014 Apparently you SKIPPED season 7. Yes in Season 6 Buffy got pulled out of heaven and was traumatized and depressed. And Spike didn’t get his soul yet. So of course it didn’t start working out until season 7. Things started to gradually heal. I hate when ppl keep dwelling in what happened between these two DURING the process instead of dwelling on how it ended. But I do agree Whedon should go

@@lessismore8533 I didn't skip anything, I watched every episode of that show as it aired and then recorded it on VCR and probably watched each episode twice more that week, lol. Before DVD box sets came out and I bought them all, I watched every episode of Angel, too. Don't try to patronize me about not being a proper fan like you and just not "getting it". Spike is one of my favourite characters but Buffy and Spike's relationship was sexual abuse. They managed to become friends in Season 7 and I do think they loved each other but they were still toxic af and suggesting otherwise is disturbing.

He was done waiting and she had to make a choice, let him go or follow him and keep him with her. He IMO has had enough here too and is about to leave her for good. Like before, she cant let him go. I think she ran for him when she realised he had gone. She wants him but him threatening to leave makes her want to keep him there, therefore kissing him before shes come to terms with what shes feeling.

The other comment is right. Spell kisses don’t count. Either way this wasn’t their first kiss either. Their first kiss was in Once More With Feeling. Yeah they were still under the singing magic, but that didn’t make them kiss. It just made them express how they really felt and then Buffy chose to kiss him. This was their second real kiss, first one without any magical influence of any kind anywhere near them. Edit: actually this was their second kiss that started off their actual relationship. Once more with feeling being the first kiss of their relationship. But their first really real kiss, outside of magic. That was a genuine kiss was after Glory beat Spike up and Buffy pretended to be the Buffybot. She kissed him to say thank you. That was a real kiss.

Technically they kissed twice before but both of those times they were under spells. The first was in Something Blue, season 4 episode 9. They kissed again in the episode Once More with Feeling, season 6 episode 7. This is from the episode Tabula Rasa which is season 6 episode 8.
