"Issues" was how the blossoming network felt in how they could say depression and PTSD. They network itself was nervous about many things in the early years of BtVS. In S1 they worried about how close to Buffy Giles could stand. At least that's what a DVD commentary states.
The moment Buffy cries out when she swings the hammer into the Master's bones is when everything changes. Suddenly Giles, Willlow and Xander all realize that Buffy isn't some punny superhero hottie. She's a teenage girl who is doomed to a life of nothing but mortal combat, over and over until she dies...again.
That time Buffy caught a triple homicide with the power of a little black dress and some shoulder bops. Here lies the graves of Angel, Willow, & Xander on this very dancefloor 😭😭😭...
The other part of what Cordelia said after "Get over it" was whatever you gotta do to do it. I liked that she recognized Buffy had something that she needed to work thru but at the same time recognizing that the longer it took Buffy to work thru it she was in danger of possibly losing the few people that had been riding for her since the beginning.
If you like tv shows that you can connect to with emotions, this is one of the top tv shows that I’ve watched. I can’t wait for you to see all the hidden gem episodes and the bad ones. Your reactions always make me smile. You being you is awesome.
A great opener from S2 Buffy obviously suffering from PTSD, and taking it all out on her friends. Interesting when Cordelia even tries to intervene referencing Buffy to Joan Collins as a type of 'Uber Bitch' because she knows that behaviour herself. All's well at the end and a bit of comic relief with The Anointed One ' I hate that girl' Another well written episode exploring psychological illness and how it can affect others. On re-watch you can notice so much more in each episode that was missed first time round.

This episode is really good and strong. Not every show dealt with consequences in the 90s, so it was also the start of something new in a way. Next episode is not a fan favourite, but the rest of this season is great! You will love it!

Without spoilers I can see “why” people would rate the next episode that low, but I think it has a lot of good layered messages, that leave you thinking.
i wanted to slap xander for being horrible to willow,i wanted to slap buffy when she was horrible to the gang,i liked cordelia adivising buffy. after now experiencing grief myself which i hadn't yet when this came out it does hit harder. i do remember getting emo then as well. a good season 2 opening ep,even though it was obvs that they used a stunt double for the training sequence. i loved sarah michelle geller in cruel intentions,the return and the grudge.
