If I was in Buffy’s shoes, I get why she would want a normal life. But she won’t have one again. However Angel being in her freaky world helps her to make sense of it all. Angelus has walked through history and done things. Angelus liked a lot of women. But the real Angel only ever had eyes for Buffy. That shows how much that Buffy is the one thing that makes sense in his freaky world as well.
I continue to be impressed by how thoughtful Angel is as a boyfriend. He sees the woman he loves hurting, puts his issues aside and tries to make her happy. Until Innocence, they really brought out the best in each other as a couple.
Never mind holding him, the stuffed animal Mr gordo I loved Angel's reaction, lol! and something tells me I'm not alone in that reaction, I guess we'll wait and see
I forgot that Angel and Buffy did some amusing interactions in season 2 before Angel turned evil. Season 3 he could be funny but was alot more dry and subtle about it: he seemed to smile smirk and laugh a lot more in S2 than the 3rd one, he came close to a smile while his dry humor kicked in a lot more. And some of his puns were a riot! I'd swear Buffy's wittiness rubbed off on him somewhat, but it worked.
That wasn’t really his point. When Buffy says she wants a normal life, Angel is well aware that he ISN’T normal. He’s a dead man who’s still walking around with a soul for the last 200-plus years, can’t walk into daylight, can’t have kids (yet), and can’t give Buffy all the fun normal things she sees other couples doing because he’s not normal. So it’s natural for him to assume that he’s the reason why Buffy is unhappy at the moment.
