Before the Veyron and long before the Chiron was produced, the 18/3 concept was a preview of things to come.

Bugatti is a rare success story. The original incarnation went bankrupt in 1963, only to experience a brief revival in the early 1990s before going bankrupt again.
The Volkswagen Group quickly took over the rights to the brand in 1998 and set about resurrecting it for the third time - and in a big way.
Although the first production Bugatti under VW wouldn't arrive until 2005, the automaker previewed its future six years earlier with the Chiron 18/3 Concept.
Unveiled at the 1999 Frankfurt Motor Show, this concept would set a new direction for the brand and set a benchmark for the modern supercar era.
