Gandini only did the prototype. Artioli did not like it because he thought it resembled a Lamborghini too much. Giampaolo Benedini did the final design. I love these cars....thanks so much for posting!
Agree and it has aged well. Supercars from this period are smaller than today's cars, but I would think a taller person could just about fit, although getting in and out would not be easy.
Very nice video. I just want to point out that Marcello Gandini designed the first prototypes of the EB110 but they weren’t so beatuful and they didn’t convince mr Artioli, the brand owner. So mr Artioli asked his cousin, Giampaolo Benedini, to try to redesign the car. Benedini, that was also the architect of the factory in Campogalliano, manteining in general Gandini’s lines, redesigned the car, the front in particular and he inserted the little horseshoe, thing that Gandini did’n do. So the final car, the one that went in production was designed by Benedini!
I try to include unusual, interesting info in my vids. It's a shame they went bankrupt so early, would have been good to see the car develop and go head to head with other GT1 cars of the period. Thanks for commenting and watching.
As I understand it, the Chiron has the structural rigidity of a LMP1 car and could technically go for the overall victory (with a few changes on the car as required by the FIA). I don't think they would be interested in Le Mans now as LMP1 only has one manufacturer, Toyota, with Porsche pulling out this year and Audi pulled out last year (both VW-Audi owned like Bugatti). It would be great to see Bugatti back in some sort of racing.
