For all y'all hating on the setup cuz the opponent isn't gonna stand there, think about how often the opponent is trying to rush you down when they know you are trying to call safe. This is still a good punish to know because I can imagine there are gonna be times you call safe and the opponent is trying to rush in and hit you before you get your safe set up and run into charm. They're not going to run into it while its just out there, but if you throw charm right after safe, it might catch them on the way to you if their spacing isn't perfect and then this becomes a situational max damage punish.
How often in a game are you landing the charm tho, the start up is ridiculously slow to be effective. And the perk that leaves it out really only benefits a team member vs using it on the opponent
The perk that leaves it out is good to trap people off the side of the stage but they can just wait it out. It's really not that good and you pretty much never hit charm on a good player
