@@thekingofnipples9806 not exactly true, the point is, that usually fully armored people encountered each other only while mounted on a horse, with a spear.
Yeah usually you wouldn’t have a full front line of full armor knights. You’d have a few but not the whole line. And the ones that did have armor would usually only fight others with armor as well. This is actually what would have happened back in the medieval times if there was two walls of armored soldiers lmao. All about stamina. And plus armor is why warhammers became a thing. Blunt force ended up being deadlier than cutting.
@@lasuzzoeaglegaming also in these games there is a rule that you are not allowed to pierce with your spear or word, you are only aloud to swing and bash it. The easiest way to get trough that armour would be to pierce.
@@dukenukem4447 Battania has the best archers, vlandia has the best cavalry and crossbowmen. Battania completely murders vlandia when they are defending a siege. Mostly due to poor AI of attackers though. In open fields vlandia rules.
They aren't allowed to thrust because of rules, but in real battle piercing damage would be used much more often. The reason it is banned is because thrusts might sometimes go through face masks or gaps in armor, which is obviously a good thing in real combat
Lots of people sort of just standing around. The interesting thing about that is that is probably pretty accurate. In movies it's as if every single soldier is paired off, but in reality, 3rd rank and back were pretty much just standing there until the guy in front of them died. I couldn't imagine being that guy 5-6 ranks back just waiting as the enemy advances, feeling helpless, and pretty much just waiting for my turn to face the meat grinder of medieval combat.
I also noticed that they kinda kept rotating. And it was actually common in medieval combat that if you were the 4th or 5th in the line and saw the 3 men in front of you die and your line has been pushed back a lot, to actually flea. Most medieval battles ended with the majority of an army retreating or scattering. Usually the casualty rate was 10-20% (i could be off) but typically the average soldier ran away when things looked bad.
Not helpless, not alot of these guys have spears, when in reality when plate armour is a thing big 7, 8 or even 9 foot pikes were a thing so you would be thrusting and defending your allies as much as possible
Probably not so much waiting for the guy in front of them to die, but rather waiting for him to get tired after a few minutes and swapping places with him. Combat throughout history wasn't nearly as deadly as we believe today. Because our modern industrial type of warfare is insanely deadly by comparison. People really, really don't want to die. And so most will go to huge lengths to protect themselves as best they can. Armor is pretty effective against a lot of the weapons used in those days. The reason all the famous battles were so deadly, was because they were so rare. And that's why they became (in)famous.
I love that Igor goes from kind, professional, and really chill in business with those buying imcf products from his stores to a Slavic god of war in medieval steel armour and a poleaxe routing his men with some of the most guttural, motivating warcries I've ever heard a person make.
Hollywood: “Medieval battles where fast paced with a lot of flashy moves and heroes who never wore a helmet” Real medieval battles: “Haha I’m gonna repeatedly swing this heavy hammer at your head until you lay down or leave” Also, that last stand you made? 👌
Will remember in real life men wanted to kill but in this event they don’t have intention to kill so i dont think this is accurate at all Just like airsoft and real life war men want to kill each others
@@Ride2Vibe It's mass battle, with formations and orders. Break formation, run like a chicken and you get toasted by 3 falchions, 2 axes and 6 halberds immediately. Settings are different, and you must consider stamina. Even when experiencing 12v12 it's a whole new world of fighting you discover.
So you're the reason I know this sport! I reached out and looked into joining a gym today and starting that long journey! Thank you very much for that and hopefully one day I'll see you on that field, much love from the states!
@@damianp4451 so there's so many different levels of the sport from what I'm aware of. They have mma gyms that you can train at for events like this. I'm interested in the longsword events. It's a one on one point based off of the strikes you land. They have 5 on 5 where you try and knock the other team on their asses and last team standing wins. You can travel the world and compete for medals. So much more about it.
In the first 3 minutes you can see excellent display of strategy. The Ukrainian team merges with the frontline teams to cover the gaps left open from the initial wave of combat.
Igor, i don't think you'll notice me but i've been watching your vids for almost 3 years, srry i didn't sub earlier. I love your vids man, great warrior. I'm 17 , i live in Hungary, and i do viking reenactment, and ok its not 100% the same, but at least it gives the battlefield feeling. Thx for your awesome vids, keep it up!! While i watch this video, i can feel the adrenaline in my body
@@N331_05 Well its chaos to say at least. @Parfentev Igor I am currently doing it for 3 years and man it is amazing. A month ago I tried my first Buhurt style battle only with chainmail not full plate armour and even with chainmail it is exhausting. I mean I underestimated it totally. I tought it was exhausting to fight 3 times for for 3 points but no. Its way more demanding to fight for several minutes at once without stop wich sounds obvious but the extent in wich it exceeds is dramatic to say at least. I did my 2 duels (not even mass battle) and I felt like I was about to sh*t my pants litteraly and I wanted to p*ke out some organs I can't like my prostate or something. Ofcourse the adrenaline is way higher than in a simple wolin -style duel so that helps a bit. Finally the last thing that comes is you can clearly see the personality of the other guy and also yours. For example I found out that I have way more "monster" in me than I tought wich is scary and calming at the same time. Calming in a sence that I know that if I'd ever have to protect myself or someone else I'd do a pretty good job or atleast give the opponent a damn hard time and scary in the sence of once you have tasted how it feels to let the monster somewhat come out it can be challengeing to not use it in any other kind of stressful or demanding situation. I don't think it is bad to have that monster but it is very important to aknowledge it and know that you have it in yourself. I think this reenactment and fight stuff is way more than a hobby, its a lifestile but for me it is addicting :D
I enjoy the fact that the first 5 minutes is pretty much just the front lines hacking at eachother with big sticks for a while while everyone else just stands back and watches
so apparently that guy who we all thought was attacking his teammates was attacking a guy who charge into the crowd so thats why so much people fell its was because of one enemy charging into them
Чудно, что я как лорд могу сидя перед монитором и выпивая чудесное вино из красивого бокала, наблюдать как челядь рубится. Хорошо, что каждый играет в свои ролевые игры)
Great video. Stuff like this is getting me hyped and thats good because i wanna join this sport in the near future and im realy excited. Maybe ill even see Igor irl. :D
I was really rooting for you and your Charge to work but then I became conflicted because my german lads appeared at your enemys flank. 😅😂 Epic footage!👍🤘
, да ты что?! А то что это недолет, ты не подумал, там видно что несколько ударов вскользь по щиту прошлись? Он одновременно бьёт и уворачивается от удара российского бойца слева.
