No, it's not that.. Jay just hasn't faded.. he will never quit training and that's what he preaches. Do you think he looks his Age?? Hahaha look at other people his age, they look double his age
Jay looks fuckin fantastic for what he’s accomplished in his life and his age. Not a lot of ELITE bodybuilders look as good as he still does and it’s wild!
It’s crazy how he’s able to maintain a lot of his muscle from his competing days. Most guys in his generation don’t look good anymore. Especially with all the gear use. He truly has insane genetics
What Jay is trying to explain here is that opening your hands actually recruits more of your chest CUZ you are taking out a good portion of force and stability off the forearm and your shoulders and pecs are forced to do that extra work, will def. try it
Read what you've said and try make it make sense. Gipping with a closed hand doesn't reduce any of the load your chest is taking. More forearm does not mean less chest.
Hi Jay I am 62 been going to gym for 6 years never saw any Inprovment till I got a on line coach and got my macros in line that was 3 weeks ago I have put on muscle since I am a long way from being like you but I just found your page thank you for all the great info I just started following you
EXCELLENT JAY, THANKS BUDDY !! I will be so ready to do my chest like this and to do it much easier and safer whenever summer finally gets here cause I INJURED my pec tie in into the shoulder area and guess what exercise it was … 🎵 🎶… … … …FLAT BAR BENCHPRESS !!!! Oh how SURPRISING right?! Wasn’t too bad since I had a safety catch underneath and the pain is now practically gone and will probably use your favorite instead now, the Smith Machine benchpress “much later” and not so much weight next time 😉💪😎👍 THANKS JAY !!! U STILL looking great man! 👍👍
this is actually great. i don't always think much of pro advice (winning the genetic lottery and working really hard doesn't confer any magical knowledge, just non replicable personal success) but the open hands concept and the alternating high-stretch movements after high-load movements for chest hypertrophy are both extremely good ideas and a good demonstration of how to implement them
Best information I get from anyone on RU-vid is from Jay. I already do most of the things but I always learn cool small things like in this video with the open hands on the flies. 👍🏽
It never ceases to amaze me that 4x Mr. Olympia is like “here, let me help you mortals” but with ZERO ego…such meaningful, simple, and impactful tips, no matter one’s own goals and journey. The guy is just off the charts.
It's right what he says with the fly movements after the pressing and the hand placement on the fly machine it hits differently you get a really good squeeze
I've noticed this too Jay . When I do standing cable chest flys , I always just bend the knee's slightly kinda bend over just a little and grip the handles open handed because of the contraction
Seeing this, im like "Oh yeah that would absolutely let you get a better contraction" But ive literally never thought to do it. Lol ive just been settling for a kinds unfulfilling workout on this machine but loving the convenience
Glad I ain’t the only one but yeah it’s ideal Man. Jay is right & his suggestions are on point. Really get that squeeze best thing is to imagine there’s a pencil or finger between your pecs & you’re trying to squeeze it with your pecs keeping your head up for the most part as too many people have their head down & also shoulders back & chest out don’t slouch
l thank u so much for that crucial secret n technique...just a bit of a slight turn of the wrist or elbow hits a different muscle....Incredible information...thnk u Mighty JC...👍🙏✌
Jay is arguably the greatest. If it hadn’t been for Ronnie Coleman he would have the most Os for sure. Only guy to win and lose and come back and fucking win again. Out the game with health and look at him now, arguably the best looking former O. Dude is a beast
