I love those little Pony Jorgensen veneer press screws. I have used them in a bunch of stuff in the past couple years. I've tortured mine pretty badly too. They are way more durable than I was expecting. Good stuff and a good buy.
Another nice feature of the veneer press is that it has an Acme thread. I've seen DIY Moxon vises that used All Thread rods that don't work as well as the Acme.
I have the Moxon kit as well, still unbuilt! I love the idea here, but-being stubborn and poor, I’m still gonna build my Moxon vise. Perhaps after breaking a few ribs on the protruding rods, I’ll sheepishly order these veneer press dealies and start over.
God I miss the Rainforest Cafe. They used to have one in San Francisco. Also I think this is the first time we have seen your face. I like the designs you keep coming up with. Please order some more handleless chisel sets . I want to build a few for friends and family. Thanks
Great Idea! I have a moxon vice kit and was thinking that would stink out and could be very painful as well as not opening wide. I already had one to the Fox Shop veneer press screw and so just ordered another. Anybody want a good deal on two Moxon kits un-used???
