Build a Spear that flies like an arrow. 

Yes, it is. All the Slockmaster equipment is excellent. I love my blowguns. Keeps me busy waiting on a deer. Many critters have fallen to it.

I dont plan on spearing stuff but my blow guns, viper and fish hawk been so fun! Silent....but deadly.... Also my son got in trouble from killing squirrels in town. I dont know how many he shot at but I did see a picture of 3 dead at least. But neighbor ratted him out because a squirrel running around with a dart in it and called DNR. Well I know and see it does slow dart down alot but if fish hawk can get one at least Ill have dart at worse case reel it in so it dont get away. But also they may be a whole other experience with squirrel running to me or what ever will happens reeling in. lol Also we all take ethical shots here, if you are a Tim Wells slockmaster personI know your good.. but people who dont know him....or us....we mess up and it happens so because of modern Karens I have to say I dont want wounded animals running around and will use what I get for nourishment as much as I can. @@FarmerFpv

Nah. The sharpness and hardness of the spears blade is far more important than the distance you can throw it. You never want to throw it at a target you intend to kill past 3-5 meters. For that, you use a bow. Past 10 meters, use a rifle. Range isn't the goal, lethality is.

@@arbhall7572 What? I’m confused at what your trying to get at….. Are you referring to throwing one of Tim’s spears past 5 meters? Because an ability to have enough penetration at range is crucial, and as opportunist hunters (those that used atlatls) they threw those distances from 10 yards-40 yards and farther. Also as someone who has built and thrown an atlatl, I can verify beyond a doubt that the weight of the dart itself is so heavy especially compared to an arrow that If the dart is attached with a stone point or even better a modern broadhead, out at ranges of 30-40 yards if that dart hits its target, the sheer weight of the dart drives it lethally deep into the body. Hence the reason an atlatl was what was used to bring down huge animals like the mammoth. Again, I’m not sure what your trying to debate…

There's a simple way to get more range. Look into war darts. Roman soldier used a string and a notch just in front of the vaines. I have tried it and I'm minute of man out to sixty yards. In my testing. Fairly accurate out to 20 yards. I think natives on the west coast used thease instead of bows?

If it has wings on the head that particular style was meant to be used by driving the butt into the ground and lower the point into the boar as it charged you (from my understanding)

Pretty sure you supposed to drop those from above, not throw bud. There's world's of difference between the two. Boar spears are either dropped from above or set to receive a charge. A throwing spears shift has to be flexible throughout most the length, but rigid near the ends. So that it flexes and wobbles to stabilize itself in flight. Throwing spears also usually have vains to guide and manipulate airflow. Very very different designs.

Thank you for your input, but I just made a personal observation to that vary fact, I wasn't asking a question. Even thou Mr. Thompson does demonstrate in his videos of said product that they can be thrown, I myself find it to difficult to do so with any hope of hitting the broad side of a barn with it, hence my observation!

Great suggestion and I'm sure Tim could pick it up quickly.

It's atlatl. Good try though. Also Tim's mentioned before that he's no good with them.

@@TimWellsBowHunter Hey Tim. Love your content. I come for the slocking, but stay for your captions lol. I too am very interested in your spears, but why aren't the Sabertooth and Seahawk spearheads interchangeable? Also, have you ever thought of a bayonet attachment for blowguns, as a last ditch sort of thing? You just seemed so nervous hunting baboons with just the blowgun, and Lord knows I would be too. I have seen videos of Malaysians hunting with blowguns and they usually attach a bayonet to the tip. Of course they use pretty large, hardwood blowguns so maybe that makes it more viable. Keep on slocking brother
