What is it about this season vs last?

Hoonigan Project Cars teams are sick. cars are sick. and such well put together videos, suspense and perfection.

For me it was the type of racing to me is more interesting to watch people do on a budget

@@HooniganProjectGarage I liked the offroading in last season, but this season has Brad in it. I mean that's enough by itself to make the show awesome. His contributions to scumbag labs were legendary. Brad's absolute "no fucks given" attitude alongside the Vargas bro's attention to detail and precision makes for perfection.

Vargas cares too much about keeping the car. Brad doesn't expect to have a car at the end. Only a trophy.

Agree a 10k racecar isnt crap. Maybe a lemon car

It all depends what you start with and what you build, for 10k you can build some pretty solid cars but the catch here is time limit. Ef civic with a bseries or even a built D and a nice turbo set up along with a good tune can easily make 500hp+ for under budget.

@@marcozuniga8163 And any LSx can make ~1000HP for little more than the cost of a cheap ass single stage plate kit - but we're talking about actual legitimate race car builds, something that can pass tech, make multiple passes, and have the potential to run 9s(I'm expecting 10s if they can make a clean pass, but neither would be much more than a little more HP and tuning away from 9.99s). Obviously in a non-competition build, you aren't going to cut some of these time limited corners). Something that you would actually want to keep and want to work on, instead of being such a hackjob that you just want to sell it and start over. Shit ain't cheap, mang, not even Fox bodies(not from starting with a bone stock chassis anyway, buying someone else's 10-11 second build and cleaning up their mess is MUCH cheaper since mods short of a built engine don't add much over stock prices). Remove the time limit, you might be able to do an all used market 10 second Fox for maybe... $6500? $7000? Within a year or so? But, we're still talking about some shot bushings, noisy ass worn out sphericals/heims, a trans that may have some slop or maybe doesn't like to go into 3rd, so on. This is what makes buying a stock chassis and brand new/nicer condition used(that dude that wants $15 above market value, but deep down you know it's worth it since it's barely been taken out of the box) parts worth the extra cost, in spite of them being the same parts that you can get used, they are just plain much easier to live with in all areas(which allows me to, say, protect the threads of adjustable control arms with heat shrink tubing, while I know that real used parts are 97% going to have some janky ass threads); including on the track.

Hoonigan Rule No 1: Safety is your third priority. Jokes aside, I cringed when seeing that.

If you watch the extra episode when they get the 3rd member parts.... he told them it has to be setup right. Will it last 5 races? I think it will....I'm no expert.... but that wear pattern looked like the pinion was too far in... needed to be shimmed away from the ring.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Also when he painted the ring gear to get the contact pattern I was like, "uh, where's the rest of the paint?" You can't get a good idea of the pinion depth or backlash from just that small section of gear.

if you’re on a tight budget go with Supreme Suspensions 2 inch coil spacers and leaf spring hangers, ive had them on my 2000 xj for almost a year with no problems. $150 and you dont need to get longer sway bars or driveshafts, super easy to install
