If you have one hot fire in the barrel after you open it all that paint will disappear, just saying way easier and cheaper than stripping the entire thing
My dad told me stories of how the would repurpose agent orange barrels in Vietnam. Showers, mix drinks etc. I suggest you know what was in the barrel beforehand. He's been gone now for almost 7 years due to complications from agent orange.
I feel like there should be a warning at the beginning about not using a barrel that was used to store a flammable liquid. The fumes/vapors last a lot longer than you would think. Cutoff wheel + flammable gas = explosion. Some people aren't all that bright...
@@JS-824 We don't know what he did prior to the video and that is not really relevant. The point is, if you're going to make an instructional video, you should address any safety concerns up front. Anyone who has worked in any kind of industrial environment knows this.
Someone never grew up on a farm and had the outside "burn barrel" that lasted 10+ years of burning whatever random stuff that needed burning. It'll last.
it you weld that slow you are using to big of welding rod and the amperage is to high. When welding sounds good it sounds like frying bacon. stoping in the middle of a puddle opens the weld to impurities and a weak weld.
@@jesusguerra9095 Glad to help man. button those sleeves also so sparks don't get to your forearms. E6013 electrodes 3/32" -- at 40 - 50 amps, always chip the slag when restarting the puddle.
Scrap metal $60 maybe more, welding supplies about $20 time about 2 to 3 hours maybe more, Houston tx done that when I was younger as a school project at the time sounded very good not anymore
Be cause the ones you typically buy are bolted together and come in a box from China or some other slave labor country. And you still have to assemble it yourself.
Stevens obviously you don’t know anything about Texas, there’s several stores that sell barrel pits made by local welders, and there’s a lot of welding shops that make those made from scrap metal and sells them for $50
@@luich2275 I live in Texas, the barrel pits you get at the big box stores like Lowes, home depot, academy, and Walmart are all made overseas and come in a box that you have to assemble yourself. Yes there are places that sell barrel pits from local craftsman but those are usually in small rural areas that doesn't have a big box store.
I like the grill, not to sure about the method and definitely not ok about welding around snoopy. Next time give the mask to snoopy and try not to use one yourself and see how that goes.
Reading the comment about worries of previous fluids in the barbecue pit...LOL. i'd be more concerned about that American meat you eat full of chemicals... and the drinks too!

This video is cool. About your welding, you shouldn't be stitch welding (intermittent arcing with spots) this has been proven to be weak. This will collapse because the welds are not strong. You should always run a bead at a 10 - 15 degree angle either pushing or pulling constantly. Not stitch welding like this. Hope it helps you in the future.
