I wanted to highlight some other nice enhancements brought up by aemarco: github.com/SingletonSean/skate-shop-maui/pull/1/files They also showed that you can use a Record to represent IMessenger messages, which people had asked about but I forgot to try! 😞

Can You please explain me why to use Commands in my private project if I can use Events?

Could you do a video of using the MVVM boiler plate for .net Maui, as when I tried to do commands like I would do in wpf, it does not work.

Hi Sean, I understand that this was a stream not an edited video. It would be interesting to see to create your edited videos. They are very clear and terse, still easy to follow. How do you do the research, what tools do you use to edit the video, what are the tricks there. Do you write a script in advance? How much time does it take to create a video, what is your practice?

Good questions Steve! I get inspiration from real-life projects and find concepts that would be good for videos. I don't write a full script in advance, but I do a basic outline and highlight key points that I need to cover. I'll also build the thumbnail in advance and document the main goal of the video. Sometimes for complex demos, I will build the demo in advance or at least do a POC to make sure things will work. Planning probably takes about 2 hours. Then, I get to recording! After a bunch of stuttering and losing my train of thought explaining something complex 😄, I usually have all the content recorded in about 2 hours. Finally, I get to editing! This probably takes up the most time. I use Davinci Resolve for everything, and I have some pre-saved props that I'll use between videos. I'll also cut out pieces of the video that are unnecessary or don't make sense. This all probably takes about 2-3 hours, but I'll spend up to ~5 hours if I really want to enhance the video with more visuals. I haven't actually recorded real content in about 4 months. I've been experimenting with my workflow to see how I can speed this up and push out higher quality content. It's a lot!

Thanks for this video. I didn't know about the ObservableValidator so that will be super useful to implement!
