Apologies, a slightly adjacent question, but you seem to know Chessnut inside out… is it possible, through LucasChess or another software (including the newest version of the ChessNut software itself), to solve puzzles and training sets, particular on Chessable? Most explainers are focused on gameplay only. Thanks!

for chessable: for pro/air i dont believe its possible. though people talk about using chessnut and chessable... i have not found a way to actually have it work with the board responding.... the evo however does have a way a to use it. which I will be investigating soon :) for LucasChess: it comes with custom puzzles, load it up and set it up on the board, then play it out. inbelieve you can also upload your own puzzle set though i havent had a chance to do this yet. chessdotcom: others have said this doesnt work, however i have personally had it work where I joined puzzles and was able to set up the puzzles on the board and play it out with the board responding (im talking about the regular puzzle mode where you get the puzzle rating). no issues for me on this one

@@whiggi Thanks for these explanations. Not a big tech person, but after curating a baseline of nice chess sets (aka consuming instead of playing) I‘m trying to reduce my excuses and procrastination by now finding a nice digital set-up. The state of things strikes me as weird. Once DGT figured out boards with piece recognition through RiFid chips, the connection to the online world has been made and the rest should be a software based afterthought. And yet, here we are…. I mean, why should it not be possible to do the same thing with a tablet lying next to your Chessnut Air/Pro that can be done on the Evo. It seems to be the same technical environment. Separate but also trivially seeming issue is choosing opponent’s move output ie board LEDs (Chessnut, Millenium etc) vs non-board / computer based screen or sound output (DGT etc). DGT has beautiful (and by now very affordable) hardware but I‘m afraid they’re making the wrong software and API choices, while I am hoping ChessNut and third party developers will address aforementioned features soon. For now I‘m waiting for the pre-drilled (Chessnut sensor compatible) chess pieces I ordered (the internet is so amazing) although I haven’t pulled the trigger on the Chessnut Pro board yet, as I am still considering the Evo. But I hope (see above) the Evo features will become available to the other boards as well via software solution.

Absolutely loving this EXCEPT one thing: When I use Lucas Chess with my Chessnut Air to practice my openings, and then I try to get out of the program, it crashes - EVERY time. Is there some order for getting out of it graciously? Thanks.

I also had this problem. I contacted Lucas via his email, and he found a solution to the problem, and sent me a link to download a beta version - All good. Suggest you drop him a line.

Hey, thanks for the video, quick question, can you import different lines at once ? maybe a fen with different opening for example a line for the guy Lopez, and another one for the Italian ?
@whiggi
@whiggi 3 месяца назад
Yes :) Just tested it. I took one of my study's from Lichess and downloaded it as a PGN, from there I was able to create and import it into LucasChess, all the lines worked as normal :)

sorry to hear that.. maybe theres a way.. could look up the lucaschess documents on their site. or have the screen infront of you, turn on blindfold mode so you cant see the pieces, just the squares and go that way.. otherwise yeah I dont know.. dont have a DGT :)
