I would not setup a new aquarium without Miracle Mud. I've been using it for 5 years and I love it. (And just to be clear, I change it every 2 years or so lol).
Great video Gil! I will definitely be looking into miracle mud. How do you like the lid on the tank would you still recommend getting one from that company? Thank you
I love this lid. The only complaint is the condensation build up, but they have a fix for that already. Otherwise a 4 foot long lid like this can be somewhat cumbersome to take on and off. In the end, I would recommend it.
great video as always Gil. Can you put marine pure in with the mud aswell? forgive me i am still an apprentice in between tanks right now. thanks in advance
Hey Christian, I took all my Marine Pure Blocks out of the system. Way too messy for me and I suspect it helped grow some green hair algae I'm currently fighting. I have enough rock that will house the bacteria.
When I would change my mud on my 29g tank I’d lower the water level in the sump by pumping water from the return pump section. Since the water level in the fuge section won’t drain all the dust would stay in that one chamber. No filter floss or anything. Then I just dumped the water back in. Cool video tho!
how is your chaeto section so clean?! my chaeto always gets covered in brown algae and the whole section where the chaeto is is covered in brown algae and im using the H80
I had to delete my comment Gil. I was thinking of advanced acrylics, not acrylic creations. I've heard pretty good things about acrylic creations, though I will say that the frag tank that I have from them has some blemishes in the seams. To be honest it was only $100 or so for a 28x18x8 or so tank so I'm not complaining.
Hey man great video next time just get bio spiro to cycle the tank faster or better yet go to your local store grab a bottle of ice tea than stand over top of the tank and piss in it. That's old school bro I've never done that but have use bio spiro to cycle my reef. Sea hares be caution as they will die without hair for food it's all they eat If they die get them out asap
LOL, heard of the pee, but not the tea bag. I like the added flare. Bio Spira works great too, my LFS carry the Dr Tims, so went with that out of convenience and reputation. Pulled out all but one Sea Hare today as the algae is lightening up, hopefully a good sign.
