Hi just found your channel from a shout out from Chris Carter, T Trak is a system I don't know a lot about, but will be watching your videos to learn more. Cheers Steve. A great idea the use of jigs to aid assembly of the modules
I really like those building jigs a lot. Great for consistent construction dimensions. I might just have to "steal" this idea from you once I get round to building my own T-Trak modules. I will likely be building my modules from 1/4 inch (6.3mm) plywood. But with the price of wood these days, I am starting to think that MDF might be a better way to go. Anyways, brilliant idea with the assembly jigs. Definitely learned something here.
Thankyou, glad it will be of benefit. I'm always looking for simpler ways to do things and like you said to get consistent results. Good luck with your module builds! John
Hi, not a silly question at all. I did used to nail the top as well as glue it. I put nails into the 4 corner supports. But l found that the way I do it now (as per the video) this is not really necessary, just use a good quality wood glue and then plenty of clamps. Cheers John
Hi John, I'm looking at getting into T-trak modules, but keep finding differing standard sizes for the modules online. T-trak doesn't seem to have really taken off in the UK, so nobody I can really ask over here. Can I ask what overall sizes your modules are please? Keep up the good work! Alan
Hi Alan, I use the Australian T Track Standard. If you go to the link below you can download the guidelines pdf file: sites.google.com/view/australian-t-trak/guidelines This will show you all the different module sizes. Cheers John
@@wimbletrain thanks for your help John, really appreciate it. Looking forward to seeing your progress. Hope my layout turns out as good as yours. Alan
