Greetings from an 81 year old European living in Java.. Have been watching your videos for some time and have stopped watching others because your videos are the BEST..No fancy talk NO trying to sound knowing it all and most of all your PRESENTATIONS are excellent. Easy to follow.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it's fantastic to hear that you've enjoyed my videos! I'm so pleased to be of help - wishing you all the best :)
I am so glad I found you. I thought I was doomed to have a painful hip from this point on. I told my Dr about my pain. He examined me and said it’s arthritis. I have been doing your hip/glute exercises and can really tell a difference. I am ordering your book. Thank you so much for being there.
I'm sorry to hear about your painful hips. I'm so pleased my tips have been able to offer you some relief, well done on the efforts you will have made in order to feel a difference. I hope you find my book packed with useful information which offers even more support. I'm wishing you all the best 😃
Will Harlow . Since I have this Gait issues, you wouldn't believe , how many people I noticed they have the same walk. I had an Xray and report done , it shows other issues , which I never heard of called *Highly Suggestive Synovial Chondromatsis* And *Severe Osteoarthritic changes of the right hip* . The Orthopedic Doctor Office should had called me , by now and they didn't. So I'm going to call this . This Specialist I'm going too, I never been to, I only want him for an 2nd Opinion My original Orthopedic Specialist, I can't see him for months, this same Specialist will do my Knee replacement , because I need a special doctor who knows my situation and this kind of doctor , knows how to do this certain kind of surgery . See I have a "Pin" in my left leg ( I call it a rod ) , he needs to put the new knee be in place ,without interrupting my Pin. Very complicated.
It would be helpful if you could show exercises with resistance band as well as dumb bells. Resistance bands don’t take much space and are easy to store so I don’t trip on them.
Hi there - I have the following videos with exercises to perform with resistance bands, which you may find useful :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RVmIAW9_Yno.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HzOJxLMbS6Y.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z9-VEzx-8mA.html
I teach a senior exercise class. I need some chair exercises for those who can’t walk for various reasons. Love yourVideos for my seniors who can walk and have good balance.
On the last move with the resistance band do you move the leg only to the side?Or to the side and back a little. That was the way it appeared to me in the video.
Hi Will. I hope all is well in your world. I've been watching your videos for a long time now (from Australia). This video is particularly important for me and has become a recent big problem - along with sciatica. I don't know what is happening with the algorithms on here, but I don't see you in my feed any more. Just wondering if it's happening to anyone else? All my very best wishes, Jez.
Hi Jez, all is well in my world thank you, I hope all is well with you also! I'm sorry to hear your hips have become a problem recently but I'm glad my video came at the right time for you. The algorithms can work in strange ways, however, any engagement with my content (subscribing, commenting, liking) usually helps to boost its presence in your feed. There is also the option to turn on notifications so you get a notification whenever I post a new video to make sure you don't miss anything. Wishing you all the very best, Will 😃
This is such a great combination. And yes, you will feel it quickly! Will is the best teacher ever - I've learned so much. I have a "Will" playlist that I frequently follow.
I've been doing these at age 72 to strengthen my hips and back. They do work to help me move better and stronger on a daily basis. I do have other routines I mix in as well. I gain much help and clarity through your videos! I now own your book, too. Full of expert advice as well as common sense! Thank you!
So pleased to hear you've found these exercises helpful and that you've been able to incorporate them into your routine. Thank you so much for purchasing my book, it's great to hear you've found it full of useful information! Sending best wishes your way :)
thanks for this. watched some of your other videos. I'm 74 and although I work out most days and in fair shape I find your advice very helpful. I'm a Bullworker since 1967 and p90x fan since discovered a number of years ago. your video re neck and back showed me a better way to do some of my exercise routines.
*Excellent Video* *Important everyone do these exercises* *You want to keep exercising your glutes* *You don't want to be in my situation called Waddle Gait ( walking side to side ) aka Walking like a penguin ( people look like you in a strange way , it's happened to me) . What if your glutes are sleeping / frozen , then what do you do? Thank you
@kannansrinivasan1358 -- I'd say doing the Romanian dead lift was actually one of the exercises which helped me *get stronger* and *clear* my sciatica. It's the nature of sciatica to get a bit irritated by exercise but that doesn't always mean damage -- however, even though I'm a PT I did this under the guidance of my PT at the time -- just for reassurance and guidance. Box squat should be the same. Hope you improve soon.
Thanks so much again Will. There are many fitness exercise videos but what makes yours so much better and useful is your emphasis on correct form to ensure maximum benefit and avoid injury. As a wannabe runner again, at an age when some might think I should know better, I really found your demonstrations of chair squats most helpful. Chair squats seem far more suitable for those of us just trying to improve our walking, running or general fitness than attempting a risky full deep squat, as is sometimes recommended.
Another great video. Coupler of questions. 1. What weight of dumbells ? 2. How often per week? I'm trying to set up a routine for the week. There are so many exercises. Could you give us a template for weekly exercises that we could set up for ourselves? ie>Warmup, lower body, upper body, strengthening, cardio. I'd be willing to pay for help with setting it up as we don't have PTin our rural community.
Than kn s so much Will. As always clear instruction and great demonstrations. Love the Friday tips e mails. You make such a difference to so nany people- bless you.
Dear Will. I am very impressed with your videos and have purchased your book. However, I cannot find your free manual for maintaining mobility on your site. Furthermore, I see I cannot download anything from the site since I have an out of UK (out of Europe) phone number. Is that how it's supposed to be? Perhaps. But please let me know. Thanks, Yael (60 this week).
Hello Yael, Thanks for your message. The international phone number should not affect things on the site. Try putting in a mock number i.e. 07777777777 and see if that works. Thanks for your interest in the book!
Hi Will, i have been watching some of your videos when I had a very painful sciatica/piriformis syndrome in June. Your explanations are the best and it has help me a lot. Even though I am no longer in pain but still keep doing stretching and try strengthen my glutes as what you hv mentioned! Thank you!
Im only over 55 and doing sissy squats, reverse Nordics and Hindu baithak squats for legs mainly, plus 2 hours a week of zone 2 walking in treadmill at speed 3 and inclination 7, unable to run in treadmill because knee pain.
57 I've been to unsure how to do RDL box squats abductors, thus I only use Genesis Gym machines. I do have Db, barbell, resistance bands at home but only do upper body. Less muscles osteopenia and finding walking hills now HARD. Have a sore knee (meniscus tear and stress fracture tibia and fibula a year ago though still feel it slightly) thankyou for explaining very clearly these lower body exercises, I am going to start incorporating today. Melbourne Australia.
I love your videos. I have very painful knees so find things like squats and lunges virtually impossible. I am trying to delay having a knee replacement so am really keen to build up my quads and gluts to support my knees. i also love walking but am finding it more and more difficult to do then miles I used to do and lots of down hill stuff is painful. I wish I lived nearer so I could get a tailor made routine from you! 😊
I’m glad I discovered your channel. Very helpful exercises for us ‘oldies’ and good presentation/explanation. Thank you! Greetings from the Netherlands!
Hello from a 67 year old living in rural Saskatchewan Canada. Thank-you for your excellent videos, I have watched many and am doing the exercises you have demonstrated and recommend. I have just preordered your expanded book and looking forward to reading it. More resistance band exercises would be great. 🇨🇦
Hi there - thank you for purchasing my book, I hope you find it most interesting! I have the following resistance band videos which may be of help :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z9-VEzx-8mA.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--QMQQR5cPfU.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HzOJxLMbS6Y.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RVmIAW9_Yno.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pdh_LUkOt14.html
Hi there - I have used bands similar to these ones in some of my videos, and you may find them helpful :) www.amazon.co.uk/Exercise-Resistance-Strength-Training-Equipment/dp/B078XCK6SF/?th=1
I have been so blessed by the reverse lunge, my word so great. I added 4 pounds of weight, terrific, I could barelyvwalk a year ago, now I can hike miles..thank you so much
What a fantastic improvement! It's great to hear you're able to walk such distances now. Well done on the effort you must have put in to get yourself to that point!
I appreciate the detailed instructions in your videos. It would be great if you put some of these on a DVD for purchase. Some older folks may have a hard time understanding how to use RU-vid or don't have.a computer or Smart TV. Also some people don't have reliable internet. I'm not sure if you can download these videos to a desktop/thumbdrive. Putting your videos on a thumb drive or DVD for purchase would be a great gift idea for those of us who are sharing your channel with others. I've purchased your book on Amazon (haven't received it yet) but I find it easier to follow someone who I can see walk me through the exercises. Also, think the video would help motivate people by feeling like they are doing the exercise along with you. Thank you for these videos. You provide much better instructions than my PT did.
Hi there! Thank you for signing up and I'm sorry the mail outs haven't been coming through for you, please check your junk emails, just in case they've been sent there!
This video is so helpful. After a prolonged bout of "sciatica", my hips have been giving me a lot of pain. Clam shell exercise made it worse. These look to target the right muscles.
I have knee osteoarthritis. The exercises for strengthening knees, thighs and glutes have been very helpful to me. I can go for long walks again and go to daily Powerwave class . I put the crutch I was hobbling about on, away in the garage. I got my life back. Thank you so so much.🎉
I found these the most helpful but you can search the channel for knee or arthritis exercises. Also put your back to the wall slide down and try to 'sit' on an invisible chair for one minute. Really strengthens the front thigh muscles above the knee ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7o7KEiBFY7U.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KLbX-Bl1ynM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BX1Fq9IJZIM.html Good luck, keep exercising 👍
What tremendous news! It's truly fantastic to hear about the progress you've made, well done on the effort you've put in to get here! I'm wishing you all the best in your continued progression😃
