Not really. That is its only purpose. I started in this industry during the late 70s as a model builder and matte painter. Maybe we had "emotional attachment" to some hero models(because those took sometimes weeks to build and paint), but not the breakaway stuff.
I've seen interviews with some model builders that say they love watching their models getting destroyed because that brief moment on film was actually what they were building not the model itself. It makes sense, I built things with my heads at work and then later on those things get scrapped. It doesn't bother me in the slightest.
Think how they scream and cry over pollution. Then think about how much of those same items pluss more like industrial chemicals + the wood rock and air. That are used to built on sound stages and sets. To make there movies. Then on break tell people how to vote pray and live. But your right this guy's job is cool. I would do that as a job as building scale modelsis are one of my hobbies. 😊❤ Thanks for sharing ❤.
Unbelievable amount of fairly skilled work only to blow it up!!! I don’t think I would have been able to destroy a model like this after spending so long building it. Not to mention the cost 😮 Fantastic video, really well edited, just the right pace 👍🇬🇧🌈♥️
Everything has an end which is created or built. America also has a future like other Nations, other civilizations who were top of the time. There will be no embassy of America around the world within 2045. This Nation will get only 100 years.
Похоже на прилёт Кинжала. А жаль. Неплохой образец классицизма. Всё-таки в таком масштабе реалистичность недостаточная. Очень крупные куски вылетают. И пламя огромное.
The amount of critical comments on here about this excellent video. It's almost like trying to suck the fun out of it. I wonder how many amazing miniature models they've painstakingly put together? Or what their level of special effect filming is? Maybe some people just aren't capable of saying something nice, or just saying nothing.
The timing was all off and didn't explode from the middle then the left and right equal and the bottom and at the end it farted on the bottom left-hand corner
Thanks a lot 🙏 I built only one model and I needed hundreds hours to build it. The explosion was made with a mix of fireworks powder and firecracker ;)
I would love to see an actual recreation of the city of Los Angeles destruction scene as it was in the original independence Day movie I’d love to just have that model for myself just because it looks so cool
Es un buen trabajo miy dedicado a como se hacen esos efectos especiales en esas películas como el Dia de la Independencia . Con aprecio . Ricardo Alegria Zambrano Popayan cauca Colombia
Amazing, the one thing I can't bare to watch these beautiful models being distributed for vfx 😊..it just breaks my heart. The amount of work and details on this. Of course sometimes depending on the needs and time available they create multiple peices. Also doing some stop motion in this would be cool like having a toy president convoy coming in and if possible building a landscape. Some day and night scenes..
@@pault5557 documentary of a Hollywood movie in which a blast of airplane was required, vfx companies asked more money than real airplane destroying. Then movie maker bought an old airplane, destroyed it and record real scene.
Its amazing that not only is the model of outstanding quality to look at but that its designed to blow apart in specific ways. Fantastic craftsmanship.
All I can say is.. you've got 'Extreme Patience'.. and 'Extreme discipline to follow through with the demolition. Don't know if I could have done it! 😮
Nice enough model. :) Consider enlisting the services of a professional pyrotechnician to get little more 'oomph' into that demolition. Some det cord and gasoline mortars will work wonders on that shot.
I've seen the movie. The explosion is not like this. It is more realistic. In the movie, the white house is engulfed entirely after being blasted with lasers from the mothership.
I forget the name but theres one company who makes architectural models worth tens of thousands of dollars and some cost hundreds of thousands. Your work here is as good as theirs is. I dont know what you are doing but you can go down that route and make a fortune.
Well done but the explosion was done with gas too meaning fireball was a mini flame thrower built in that’s what gave Independence Day signature iconic look reason is they wanted make like the blue laser was super heating the ground and the ring of death was molten lava from the explosion..
There is a large scale model of the White House that a man created that was incredibly detailed and furnished. It even had working miniature tvs. He traveled with it around the country. I saw it on person once in Norfolk, Va.
@@MiniaturesFX It was created by a man named Zweifel. It is now on permanent display in Missouri I believe. He even decorates it for Christmas just like the real White House. Just Google Zweifel White House and there are many pictures of it. The model is about 20 ft. long. It's really amazing.

What was the budget on this one? Because you can't tell this is a 3d printed White House. Not to mention it delivers the exact same amount of realism and 90s vibe as Emmerich's shot. I wonder why no film production hired you to do their special effects scenes so far. Or did they?
Absolutely no pain 4 him at all 2 watch himself & the amount of work that it took because someone who enjoys what he or she is doing enjoys this & love what they're doing instead they look back back & it feels good about the accomplishment itself & all the the accolades that come with it is well deserved.
Very awesome! I am sorry you had to delete the old version, but this is better. We get to see the model's creation and destruction. Looking forward to the next tutorial.
This is insane! Really really cool! I would like to point out that this isn't actually the whole white house, but I also don't think it was necessary to have all of it. What he built is called the residence. The white house has two other parts called the East and West wing. But this model is perfect for what they were doing with it. Amazing job!
Great model work. I've watcher your Duel and Titanic vids and like the techniques you use. As a life long modeler, I use many of the same, weathering, Hydrocal, plaster etc. but y'all do it so much faster than me. Liked and subbed to your channel straightaway. Thanks.
