My OCD is kicking in, screw missing at the back with light showing through the hole, have a nice weekend I'll be thinking of you while I'm at work on nights all weekend, only in a good way while I'm waiting for the next vid.
Beautiful build. I’m currently doing Knight Rider 1:8 scale car. I hope this Routemaster bus will still be available after finishing my current build. Such an iconic vehicle being from London myself. Great video Mate. You’ve inspired me to have such a love for model making
Another great video Wayne .. the Routemaster is really looking good. One tip … those two smaller vertical strips that you installed between the cream band and the windows in stage 108 (18:11 approx on your video) and again in stage 110 (which you only show fully fitted) .. remove the two inner screws from each vertical strip .. this will make it much easier to fit the advertising streamers at the end of the build (and holes get hidden by the adverts) .. also will allow you to fit magnetic strips if you want to use Peter Kurton’s alternative streamers & can swap them around! Leaving those screws in will really make it hard to fit the original streamers flush to the sides of the bus.
Should’ve made the rear signboard the same as the front so that way whatever the front says the back would say the same thing the way they’ve got it if you put the front I want then the back would always say Liverpool
I noticed that those red strips on the side of the bus they made you mount halfway in the previous stages are a bit bent near the side you secured in this stage, probably because you had to start putting screws from their side and not from their center.
Just a thought to avoid scratches.. try screwing with a piece of cling film / cellophane over the end of the screwdriver. It should still grip the screw head but if it slips it should skid off the model without scratching it.
Too bad the model does not include a few scale passengers to complete the display, if not passengers at least the driver. With car models scale persons are not really required but with a bus I think it leaves something missing.
Hi I did start this model a few years ago but there were issues with it and stopped doing it. Since seeing your build I want to start again but I need to ask did you have any problems at all ? I think it was down to the screws originally why mine wasn't going well .
@@WorldofWayneUK I was going to start at the first issue .at present I've been doing the revel 1:24scale routemaster which isn't very good so this larger 1:12 is awesome looking .
Hey Wayne, I noticed that your transition clips in between packs has changed for some time and I was just wondering if the old version where you used your logo is better or easier than using the stock image of the model kit?
The blinds on the side and the back could be changed by small handles in the ceiling above the platform. The could change the numbers and destination blinds separately. I guess they didn't have enough space.
On the real bus there were blinds with a separate one for the destination at the back & just one blind over the stairs on the side.. in the model .. these cannot be changed as they are just a printed acrylic sheet that can be illuminated by those boards. In reality the original had another small number only blind on the off side lower deck (above the battery box).. this was removed & plated over on its first overhaul at Aldenham; but when this was done the bonnet bullseye was removed & grille was altered to include the triangle LT badge seen on most Routemasters.
