Nope. Trap doesn't allow for animal's recoil response. Instant the hog sees that twine move, he's outta there like a shot. Not buying this for a second, although I do like the trigger mechanism.
This guy is just fooling everybody. The pig is his pet pig. This is not how wild pigs behave. I have hunted them before. They're wild and aggressive. You can't hold it like this without receiving a nasty bite. How can you carry a trapped wild pig without any resistance?
My uncle raised some pigs in a pen beside our house many years ago in the village. You needed more than two persons to subdue a pig of that size. In fact those who bought them for meet hired a hunter to shoot some down because they were considered too dangerous to be caught by hand. I can tell you that the pig in this video was tame. A wild male boar would just eat you alive especially after being traumatised by the trapping. My point is that this is a make believe but the trap could work though.
My thoughts exactly. Pigs are strong and I'm confident that the pig could have pushed the log out of the way. I had a hobby farm for a decade and raised pigs so I know even small ones when not socialized act when you go to grab them. With time they get use to you and handling them looks more like this. That was a domesticated pig that was use to humans.

As you can see when you drop the axe on the sticks, not all sticks fall, so theres a probability that the pig may not have fallen completely, or it might be injured if a heavy log fell on its head. Pig is still okay. And all the sticks fell down? And why the hell did the pig completely align itself in the hole horizontally? The pig might eat the bait without placing its body completely into the hole. The one leg might fall due to stepping into the stick, but not completely fall because when you tested it, not all sticks fell down, so the pig might still hold onto other sticks before getting injured by the heavy log

All these 3rd world Asian videos are fake scams. Even all the puppy rescue videos are fake from Asian countries. Why do you think they never show the hog actually getting trapped? I think this little tamed piglet was placed inside by him. He fed that piglet well after the performance. The piglet knew it too. The real wild boar would more feral and ferocious. This trap doesn't work at all. The wild boar is very powerful. it can jump off the log easily. BTW it can't be fall down into this stupid hole at all.
