If you are a musician, you might consider making your own stompbox. They are very easy to make with whatever tools and wood you can find. Assembling the electrical parts is a snap and they only cost a few dollars. I had fun jazzing up my version with tambourine cymbals and a snare, but just a simple box works great.
What you will need is a Piezo Transducer (an electronic pickup). There are various types available in many places such as Amazon.com.
You might want to look around for a bass pickup, which will give you a much deeper sound.
And you will need a 1/4" phone jack to hook the box to an amplifier.
