Here's an fast and inexpensive way to build your own tall wood planters! Tapered, modern design, build in five different heights! Free plans: www.ana-white....
So glad I found your videos last year. I used this exact tutorial this past year and was able to sell 25 of these for $149 per planter. I had one customer come back after buying 2 of them and she bought 8 more as Christmas gifts. I can now make one of these in just about 3 hours so it only takes me a week to do10 of them. Thank you so much for making my hobby so profitable. My wife and I are now able to buy our first house.
As an amateur with woodworker, i typically feel overpowered with the entire arrangement ru-vid.comUgkxrYREG3-7f1Aqk9ams3ZESRNzGnfdUtyQ . Be that as it may, this arrangements drove me through with much clarity and effortlessness woodplans. Works i now work like a genius. That is great!
I like seeing women in the shop. You're inspiring other women to get into the hobby. More people woodworking means more cool ideas for everyone to build! These planters are next on my list. Thanks!
I have a similar RU-vid channel if anybody is interested. I encourage all of you to come and check it out. feedback is welcome if you enjoy please hit that subscribe button and comments so that I can welcome you to the family
I’ve followed two Ana White projects and both have turned out so darn good:) I love her “build, share, repeat” philosophy. I’m here to give her credit. Thank you Ana.
Just brilliant, Ana. The way you executed this plan was simply brilliant. Just when I think you can’t outdo yourself, you do! Thank you for the plans. I will be making a couple. Love them!!! Happy Mother’s Day!!! 💐
You, my virtual woodworking Goddess, never cease to amaze me. I have been watching you for a number of years and am continually impressed at your humbleness, your sweetness, and your ingenuity. Many of us truly appreciate you and, as well, are extra grateful that you share bits of your famiy life. Blessings to you and your family. 🌺🌺 PS: I absolutely love the look and the simplicity of these planters.
Amazingly beautiful. I wish RU-vid had a Gold Star button so I could give you a Gold Star for this easy to do tutorial. I can't wait to head to Home Depot tomorrow and start this project.
I did a set of 4 of these this weekend. I did glue the 1x2 and 1x3 as well as nailed them. Thank you for sharing this video. I was doing them so different and taking over 4 hours to make the cuts. This allowed me to make all four in 4 hours. You Rock.
I'm a 1st time DIYer. Loved your video as the planter looks doable. What I liked was your presentation and the steps to follow that went along without any dramas or overt selling. There was one comment from somebody that did not like the nailer. But I do realise that nailers are quicker and save time. However, wood screws can also be used with the same outcome.
Ahh, Ana, the woman of my dreams! I did not know that my woodworking layout could be improved if I only did quilting beforehand. Nice approach & "must try" the way you do it.
Results are very pretty. Definitely a great trick to get the tapered look in less time. And no expensive miter saw used. Thank you for making the project mire attractive by simplifying the process.
So nice to see more women working with wood and power tools. This is so awesome. I plan on making a few of these when it is cooler. (Right now in Texas at 7am the feels like temperatures are 90+). Thank you for posting. I hope to learn more from you. 😀
I've been scratching my head of how to build something like that for so long. Until I watched your video. Thank you so much for sharing the plan. It's a life saver. Thanks Ana.
Well you make this look easy but I think you have a lot more experience than I do. I do have table saw, mitre saw, jig saw and nailer but I am afraid of that circuare saw.....I will have to practice or get my son to that part LOL! I am going to try it. Thank you for the video. It is really good and so are you! So Kudos to you Ana!
This is so unconventional and absolutely brilliant! If I was to show you what kind of scraps are in my shop after the 1st tapered cedar planter I struggled through you would laugh and show me this much easier, much more comprehensive way
I built two of the smaller planters. It took me a day and half for each. For me it's definitely intermediate because I'd never attempted this before now. I tried the circular saw with the boards attached, and destroy the boards, so I purchased more cedar picket fences, (glad I didn't get the more expensive boards without dog ears), and put the boards together and used my Dewalt miter saw. It was awkward but it was spot on for the angles. I purchased the 5 1/2 x 6 cedar pickets with dog ears and trimmed them off and still had a lot of board to work with and remaining. After completing and sanding the planter, it looked so good! Now need to decide what kind of plants to put in them for the summer. Christmas will be Christmas trees!
Wow... Excellent thinking outside the box (no pun intended). This is really the most simple user friendly DIY planter boxes I've seen. Love the simplified approach and other than the top bevel, it's just as beautiful as others I've seen that use miter saws and such. For anyone wanting to try this, Harbor Freight has a $35 Drillmaster 7 1/4" circular saw that has an adjustable "rip fence" so that you can make those long cuts next to the wood easily. I'm going to try a couple of these boxes to go out beside my garage door.
@@randyman8984 If you have a metal bar that came with your saw that has a cross piece on it like a T square, and you tossed it aside because you didn't think you needed it, go back and look again. It slides into the bottom of the saw and locks down to create an edge guide. There would be a small square hole just under the saw plate if you look at it from the side. That's where the guide slides in. If yours has it.
*TopFineWoodworking. Com* is an amazing book about woodworking. I`m a graduate of a one-year carpentry course from a local tech college. Of all books I`ve read during my study about carpentry, I think this is the finest book I`ve read so far. It explains everything regarding woodworking as well as complements it with helpful photos.?
These planters are outstanding! I love the look of them, and of course you have to love the reasonable price. Thanks for showing us a 'doable' method to construct them. I hope that you had an enjoyable Mother's Day with your exceptional family.
I actually LIKE that you didn't double bevel those corner cuts. It's a better look and gives the planter more dimension. You made it look less mechanical and boxy while still being mechanical and boxy !!
I was wanting to lots of planters/ pots on one corner of my porch but was dreading the cost of all the pots but then I found this!! I will be making approximately 6 of these this weekend.
This is so clever, easy, affordable. I have 4 of your Adirondacks already and everybody just loves them. I think these planters are next in line. Cheers!
Absolutely love this. Just finished building a couple of your raised flower beds with my daughter and they turned out great. Can't wait to build these. Also bought the lumber for tumour Adirondack chairs which are hands down the nicest I've seen!
To keep those planters from rotting out. Put a plastic tube in the bottom and cover the inside with roof patch. Then line the whole inside with weed cloth. Now the wet earth can't rot the wood.
I am so happy I found your channel....all I have to say is that your projects are all amazing. I will definitely share pictures of mine when I finish. Thank you so much for the easy and very high end projects you share with us, ❤️many blessings to your family 🙏🙏🙏🙏
That’s extremely impressive and so smart! Very well delivered and explained. Beautifully executed, I’m now stuck binge watching your channel 😆 I Love wood working, I greatly appreciate the plans. 🙏 thank you.
😎👍💯🌟🌟🌟 10:43 ...I am making a pair of these beauties....but with the excess space...i will cut a hinge door on one side..and use it for a mini supply area
I made my first 5 boards high. It is not 100% perfect for my first try. I finished it with dark walnut danish oil inside and out. I put little plastic feet on it and set it on a 14x14 paver outside at the corner of my driveway. Looks beautiful. I did not sand it, left it rough. Let it soak up the Danish oil heavily and has a great rough rustic look to it.
I like how down to earth are you, and did I mention how easy to follow your tutorials are? . only the double bevel was a bit of rough experience for me when I tried to make the stools. but well I'm still on it. so thanx a bunch.
Nice planters. I’m going to make these. Cedar is so much better than plastic. I do have a nice compound mitre saw but I’d rather do it your way. Looks easier and quicker.
I'm glad I saw this before I started on the other plan I was about to build. It required the same type and qty. of material, but the construction technique required a ton of exterior pocket screws. This plan is simpler, faster by far, a quite a bit less expensive....and no less functional. Thanks!
You must have watched the same one I just did. $6 in wood, but about 50 pocket screws and maybe a half day of work, at least for me 🤣. Love that channel but this build is so much easier and will certainly take a lot less time.
Couple comments: I would stain the boards before I cut them to speed up that process, and touch up the cut ends afterward. Also filling the bottom with styrofoam packing peanuts takes up a large amount of space with very little weight penalty! Great video! And what an easy project!
