In this video I get to build up 2 Yokomo 870c rere kits. One for my friend Jason and the other is for me. Special thanks to Paul Walker for donating my kit to the channel.
What a brilliant donation to the channel. Great job Paul!! Thanks for sharing these awesome builds Keith. Can’t wait to see one of these flying round your track pal 😎
Great job mate shame about the original body but it still looks great and at the end of the day it's still original and you couldn't do anything more than what you've done so well done 👏👌
Well, wonder if I can suggest to paint the über rare bodies with acrylic paints (hobbynox or Proline for example), so much easier to strip in case of "mishap" 🤔 The caveat is that it's not as durable as Tamiya PS, but perfect for a "shelf" car 😉 Anyway, great work on both 870c, not easy to do a double build 👍🤝
Cracking job, yeah cant remember if i went through the differences. I do love that pink body 👌 i can see me getting another at somepoint. Mine went in a deal with dyna storm, so it was a worthy sacrifice 😁
Great video Keith, shame about the paint job but I’m sure you’ll manage to sort it out. Let me know if you are looking for anymore kits or parts and I’ll do my best to help out.
Thank you for this very detailed video. What happened to your OG Dogfighter with the smudges that you couldn't see happened to my Tamiya Dyna Blaster. Luckily there were so many stickers it covered most of the smudges. Everything looks great though with the your Yoks. I have to order the 2.2's wheels as well. Right now its the ones that came with the kit and I might run it tomorrow as its suppose to be 80 outside. It'll be interesting to see how it runs compared to running it with 2.2's and with better tires. Perhaps I'll be able to do that one day this summer up on your track my friend.
Unbelievable job on both Keith. Yokomo was never really on my radar till the rere because of price. Anyone on the fence it looks even better up close. Keith did a killer job building them better than I could so thank you Keith for your craftsmanship. Yeah now I understand the attitude you had that day about the paint runs.
Awesome build’s! Back in the day - loose dirt off road tracks- need flex for more grip and now with higher traction tracks, stiffer chassis and suspension arms are needed.
Very cool and thank for showing them off. That white paint has messed me up more than once!! I have stopped using the Tamiya white just for that reason of it melting previous colors even after sitting for days. I am using the Traxxas white and black now on them as you get more for the money, the paint dries super fast and is does not melt the previous colors. I have not had any issues with reactions with it on any of the Tamiya colors either so it seems very compatible.
Awesome video, it was really good to see the comparison between the original and the rere! Finished mine a month ago and I was super impressed with the quality of everything, it was one of the best builds I’ve ever done!!👍👍
Great Car but the wording on the box buddy made me laugh... 'requires and accepts all popurar 2 channel radio systems, surely it should be popular?! lol Also noticed 'not included spelt includrd!
