In this second video of two I finish building a loco body in a large scale to fit on a Hornby 0-4-0 OO gauge chassis. I'm really enjoying exploring the flexibility and freelance nature of narrow gauge modelling. I hope you enjoy watching what I'm up to this time on New Model Barmy.

Nice work, really enjoying your project!😊👍 Looking forward to seeing you run 16.5 gauge in the garden, several have, no reason as to why not to👍👍 I've seen 0-16.5 run in the garden - really nice. I model O and 0-16.5, the O does have a small U and circuit in a small garden (RC) and returns to the garage, the 0-16.5 is indoor, using DCC (better running even with cheap decoders - although a phaff to fit on certain resin kits). My dad models SM32 in the garden - it really adds another dimension, outside light etc. In fact his railway is basically the real thing in miniature as one has to contend with outdoor issues.🤔🤔🤔😊😊

The charm of the large scale model was fully felt. The paint work is really excellent.

Looking good! I can just imagine the 'fun' you had bending that track round into an oval and even more 'fun' joining the two ends together!! I notice you used a small cork/cardboard notice board for the base; I've often thought they would make great baseboards for micro layouts!

Indeed, there was much tension there both in track and nerves!.........plus about a meter of solder lol

Nice job on the model and the video! The turntable was an excellent idea. The 3 models next to each other was an interesting comparison. The painting process is something I need to try on my models. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to the small layout build.

The loco looks great! Will you be scratch building rolling stock too?

My plan is to adapt a OO Gauge wagon to take a small can of beer….maybe not on the tiny loop though……I think buffer lock might be an issue😂
