BBQ with Franklin
Pitmaster Aaron Franklin takes a boisterous road trip of BBQ culture -- the people, the places, and of course the food. Ten half-hour episodes celebrate the traditions and storied histories passed down through the generations, as well as those breathing new life into this distinctly American culture.

First time I see someone with a winch on their truck use one 😂 Pulling propane tanks out of a ditch to make a smoker is definitely a reason to have one 👍

That's about as dumb as saying, "I've seen plenty of people with a firearm but I've never seen any of them pew pew someone". Having a winch is a last resort. If you are using it all the time you're trearing your truck up.

I keep thinking, with the size of his business now, and judging bbq tv shows, doing interviews, and everything else, is this the best use of his time? Then I realized it’s probably his FAVORITE use of his time. Even though making videos is a pain, he probably enjoys building pits and having minimal interaction with others once in a while. I would.

All of that can be done with very basic welding skills and basic welding tools. Flux core welder and a grinder could build all of it.

You can get a Vulcan 220 which is a really nice welder for 1000 bucks at harbor freight. Other than that a grinder and other basic tools will be fine. Having a welder and knowing how to use it is super nice.

I really like how a semi-insulated firebox was stressed. When I build bigger fires with a bigger coal bed, my briskets taste so much better. I’m upgrading to a 250 and there’s only a few builders who have semi insulated, most are fully insulated.
@finecraftsmenllc2182
@finecraftsmenllc2182 7 месяцев назад
What do you mean by semi insulated?
@smokescouts
@smokescouts 7 месяцев назад
@@finecraftsmenllc2182 it’s an air gap with no insulation, so basically a smaller pipe within a larger pipe but no insulation in that void between the two pipes. Fully insulated uses a insulation there, and you can actually touch the outside of the outer pipe without getting burned.

@normmarino7914
@normmarino7914 5 месяцев назад
I Believe that, Propane gas does not rise in the air but hangs low to the ground when it’s allows to leak out of the tank. So maybe after taking the valves off turn the tank over so the valves are pointing to the ground so if there is any gas left in tank it can leak out. But way to the gas gets blown away form the ground getting deluded by the low ground air. But talk with the Propane dealer to double check what I am saying, Good luck enjoy your BBQ ❤🎉
