Was super cool watching these come together. Also, huge fan of the good enough mantra. Too many people get trapped thinking they need to have perfect paint, to the point where they never even hit the table in the first place!
Thanks for the watch, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm also inclined to agree that worryin' too much about perfection in your paint jobs leads to less painted models. Though a lance with fabulous paint jobs looks amazing, a bit of ink washin' and drybrushin' goes a super long way in getting things done and on the tabletop.
Have to say, for so few views, your content is wonderful. It really makes me want to get back to my battletech minis. Keep at it. Can't wait to see more battlemechs from ya!
Thanks for the kinds words, gentle stranger! Although the focus of this channel isn't primarily battletech, I can assure you there is more to come. Between the starter mechs, Ironwind Metals, Catalyst Games, and 3d printing; there's no shortage of fun chassis to paint up.
I never knew what contrast medium was used for. My mind is blown away!! Holy cow. Awesome and great looking mechs. Fantastic content. This video was super helpful and inspiring!
I am quite stoked that you found the content useful! 😁I should think about putting out some more of the more instructional stuff sometime soon... more fun stuff in the near future!
I'm super glad you found some use outta this episode. Painting up Battlemechs with quick 'n' dirty methods really helps get fun chassis on the table for our monthly meet - sometimes in the form of fast harassers with an Ultra AC/5 😜
I have seen all of your clips Cameron and although I have been mini modelling/painting for quite a few decades I always pick up a new tip - such as a bit of white on the antennae. Your relaxed style and humour always leaves me with smile. I try to only compare my work to my own previous effort in an attempt to improve. "Good enough" has always worked for me. please keep them coming, Cameron. cheers from Canada ~
Thanks so much for being such a dedicated watcher! I'll continue to strive to release fun and informative clips for the community. I'm super stoked to hear you've gotten something worthwhile from these videos.
Thanks! At first glance, these models really seemed hopeless - but it goes to show that a little bit 'o patience and concerted effort can really go a long way.
Thank you much good sir! I truly believe that satisfactorily sufficient tabletop models can be readied up with not too much effort. Sure, mechs with super pretty blend jobs can be a treat - but gettin' 'em done with some time-saving techniques often yields some fantastic "good enough" results😋More to come soon!
@@countryfriedminis Cool. i'm about to start into classic with a group of friends (having a "draft night" with 25 catalyst mechs I have duplicates for), and I've saved this to a playlist to share with them to encourage them not to be scurred and to give painting a go!
@@HotelCharliHill That's awesome! If I were to make any single recommendation to painting newbies, it would be to snag a white primer that they like and some contrast medium from Citidel - that style of painting can get so much heavy lifting done!
@@HotelCharliHill I think a Slapchop battletech lance might very well be on the schedule for an upcoming vid - I'd really like to see how the extra contrast of the punched-up shadows affects the overall feel of the paintjobs.
Your content is simply delightful, brother, I've never picked up a brush and just recently got into battletech because of Mechwarrior 5 and I love watching you paint em minis
Thanks for the watch, and the sentiment! I've got a bit of content coming to really showcase some quick 'n' dirty painting methods that look great with very little effort.
I legit almost turned off this video when you were battering up the minis. Glad I didn't, the rest was quite good. This was a very good video. Those bases really came together good.
So glad you stayed, thanks for the watch! 😃I had a bit of fun with that intro, and it's been quite contentious for several viewers at this point. Still, a little bit of humor and the mileage I've gotten from that footage was well worth the death of that pan!
Super glad you enjoyed it! I'm inclined to agree on this being the best TRO as well - there's some really awesome offerings for both inner sphere and clanners, and the artwork is really exquisite.
One of my favorite mugs 😋I may not eat animals, but I'm not opposed to gardening with their manure! Roughly 5% of US cropland is fertilized with manure (that's something like 15.8 million acres!). A surprising amount of fertilizer production is potash, phosphate, and even natural gas
@@countryfriedminis Ammonia and Nitrate is super important too, a ton of it actually used to come from Ukraine but now people are having to find alternative sources.
