Actually the sheer clamp is not glue to the hull. It is just in place and is glued to the deck. Will come out with the deck when I separate the two halves. It will all be clear in upcoming episodes.

Yes that could be done. However for me, the purpose of adding the strip inside now on this design is to make it easier to attach the hull to deck when both are complete. There is no way I will be able to get inside to apply a fiberglass tape to the inside seam, so the sheer clamp strip gives a surface for thickened epoxy to bond hull to deck. Then glass tape will only go on the outside seam. Hope that answers your question. All will become clearer as the build progresses and videos come out.
