Building a Bookcase Wall and End Table, My Off Grid Log Cabin Interior is Almost Finished

Using a combination of rough cut pine, walnut and birch and tongue and groove cedar, I build a bookcase wall to separate the living room from the bathroom and an end table to support a lamp, books, card games...
With cold February temperatures testing the comfort of the off grid log cabin, the wood stove proves to be up to the task of heating the space and the mass of the logs retains it well, with morning temperatures in the cabin remaining quite warm.

From what I can gather in watching Cali & other video dogs; they comprehend their 'dad'/'mom' is always speaking to someone other than them and that someone is inside that contraption dad Shawn is always talking to. Also, if the dog gets close enough they can see the image of moving people or a dog IN that little thing. So, my guess is they think it's real people in the camera. Get really science-fiction-y & it's like they are looking into a portal. It explains the uncanny way Cali looks directly into the camera for confirmation or assistance. It's pretty amazing watching how Cali, girl in the woods & bushradical's Maisy and other youtuber's babies respond to the camera similarly. It's a whole new aspect of communication brought about as a result of the vlogging world. I really hope an expert on behavior eventually does a deep dive, as this is really quite fascinating. I get such immense pleasure & relaxation out of Shawn's endless builds. The compound is pretty awesome.

I live in a log cabin in Wisconsin. I have my over size leather chair directly in front of my Soap Stone wood stove. Nothing more relaxing than to set and watch the fire burn when it below zero or in the middle of a big snow storm and having a nice hot cup of coffee with my Newfoundland dog curled up near by!. Your set up in front of your stove is awesome. I know you and your best friend will spend many memorable hours enjoying the warmth and companionship!!! A great job of making your cabin so homey!!!!

It's always fun to think about which part of your videos are my favorite...but it's SO hard to do! Books are my favorite "possession," because they bring so much joy so that huge bookcase is everything. As a city girl, longing for the country living of my childhood, my very favorite tonight was seeing all of the beautiful stars in the sky. I'm lucky to see the moon and three or four of the very brightest planets. Shawn, if you made a 45 minute video of the night sky with audio of a woodburning fire, I would watch it on repeat to relax. You have two wonderful fireside chairs, and we love to see that you allow your dear Cali take over one.😍 I also had two precious pups, who also took over both of the 'fireside chairs' and I am relieved that they were given these luxuries in return for the joy that they brought me.

Waw cabane solide, grande et confortable. Si je n'ai pas vu les sanitaires, il faudra les réaliser une petite pièce . Pas besoin de baignoire classique, un bassin, un endroit où faire chauffer l'eau et un conduit pour déverser l'eau vers l'extérieur. Super le coin bibliothèque avec le tapis par terre . Je suis toute ouïe et je me suis vue dans cette cabane si belle et chaleureuse 🤩 . Je viens juste de découvrir votre chaîne. Merci d'avoir partagé votre une petite partie de votre mode de vie . Hi Shawn, watching this video I can't help but feel a deep sense of envy mixed with admiration for the taste and skill with which you are decorating your cabin while Cali keeps your chair warm. I guess the electricity comes from solar panels and batteries without inverters, the light in the interior shots is excellent. Cheers!

Cali is so smart, such a trip! The shoe was classic, lol When are you getting her a mini me? Should now, that way she can help train up the new one. It's amazing how in tune our animals get with us when it's one on one. I am a loner by choice, but I've had this crazy cat for almost 20 years now. He's now toothless, getting old. Not sure who has trained whom, but I now know exactly when he's whining for his food, fresh water, (not that stuff that's been sitting, Mom. Cold stuff fresh out of the faucet) and Heaven forbid I get yelled at for not cleaning the litter box. I used to own shepherds, just too old to keep up with a dog anymore. Cudos for raising Cali to be such an amazing dog!
