I can easily see why you had to REBUILD the whole truck I had a 96 F-150 the biggest pile of junk ever foisted off on the public you name the problem and It had it even stuff that can go wrong did anyway, But of course you had to completely overhaul your own POS Oh hey I already know.
I respect the amount of work and effort but you had to do it otherwise you'd have a broke down junker I gave up fixing mine the list of repairs would stagger your imagination.
I was not prepared for the level of quality and craftsmanship put in. I figured this would be some dude in his backyard jerryrigging everything. But this was clean and professional. Great job!
Reminds me of my Dad. He could fix anything and no sloppy job. He could work on German, English, Italian, and Japanese cars. He always said the Japanese cars were the nicest to work on. He said the English and Italians can not make cars and must have been drunk when they designed a car. Germans were good and over engineered their cars. But in any case he passed away in 1989 and I miss that man a lot. He had 4 trades to his name and could do anything and do it well. Good job guys you take me back to a good time in my life, and your work is excellent.
I hear you loud and clear. My dad was the same. A machinist, welder, engine builder, hydraulic master and mechanic. Were his specialty’s. But could also frame,plumb,wire………….. .. honestly could do any thing. I miss my dad as well.
This is one of those epic builds you may notice at a show from distance….nice OBS Ford, rare crew cab…nice stance and paint. The closer you get, as you take in more and more details….big and small…the amount work skill is just amazing.
Such amazing craft and skill in this build dude. Like, talk about "built not bought". I hope someday to have a shop as well equipped so I can do this kind of work. Amazing! Why don't they teach this stuff in schools anymore?!
@@youvebeenspookedbecause the government doesn't care about stuff like this. Actually they probably hate it. All they want to do is indoctrinate kids and turn them into liberals before they even know their colors.
The level of craftsmanship put into this truck is among the best I've seen! I think this truck deserves a spot in SEMA imo. It literally looks as if Ford built this as a generation progression collab with CAT. Truely amazing to see.
I'd agree with this truck going to SEMA it's a 1 of a kind build and it ain't clapped I wish I could see it in person I have a feeling that cameras don't do justice to the detail on this truck
I was telling my 66 year old father and proud life long trucker about this truck and he says…….why the hell would he use a 3126, that’s not much of a motor? 🤣 I bet it feels like way more of a motor in a f350 than it does in semi trucks! Love this build brother 👍
This guy is the "BOMB" Mechanic knowing all facets of the build like each was his specialty. He does it like an excited teenager on his first car. Truly amazing, maybe the best RU-vid video I have seen.
A friend's dad watched this , he's a retired Millwright, and he said "That guy would be the best guy in the shop, he can do almost everything, he's smart and got a big shop full of tools and anything you'd need. He has money for any parts, right away. If you tried the same thing it would take you forever."
The absolute amount of over-engineering/re-rigging to make everything fit together and work the way you made it is just amazing. Even upgrading the internal trim and especially the LCD instrument panel. Just Minty all around
I had a 93 Ford F250, with a 7.3 diesel. It was the best truck I ever owned. Only wish I had the shop, time, money and knowledge to do something like that. Bravo Zulu!
This is insane! A square body Ford F350 with Cat power?! That by itself is awesome, but the level of work you did: the interior swap, the frame work, air suspension, that’s just amazing! And it won’t sound like ANY other pickup out there! The engine by itself was worth watching for me, but then again I’m a retired trucker so I get it. Woohoo! Do more crazy stuff like this!😎
Video is less than 30 minutes long and how can you get the entire job done in 30 minutes. I see them speed walking and working faster than what a normal human can work.
The level of craftsmanship in that truck is something to behold. I can’t think of anything I would want more than another one of those. Absolutely amazing. The video was an absolute joy to watch. You guys nailed it.
Udder disappointment. Via the title, I was promised 30 minutes of the best content available on RU-vid. However, after 27:22 of my time I was left to sit and think...I try everyday to work on my own stuff, being resourceful and reusing stuff when i can, buying new when i can. You are a true inspiration. I don't think i can ever repay you, thank you again, from Texas.
Just outstanding. I am a contractor and I felt the blood, sweat, and tears these guys went through to do this. Probably the best restoration/swap I've seen.
It's a franken truck, nothing on it is original now. An amazing amount of work put into it. I would bet most people don't realize just how much went into this truck. Very nice work, easy to see the passion put into it.
Definitely a “frankentruck” . No disrespect , but why update the dash , seats , etc . And keep the original door panels . Updating the door panels would’ve been the cherry on top !. My ocd couldn’t handle that interior but the build is amazing mechanically !
Massive amount of respect. How refreshing to watch true craftsmanship across disciplines and not have to deal with some egotistical "know-it-all" blabbing the entire time. Great video! Even better work on the truck!
Prayers that this teaching encourages Young ones to seek Mentors. This is so spectacular Your time and organization Professionalism! Very Rad darlin’ You need to put in the corner of screen the real hours that are involved when Pride in your work Is justified . Many Blessings Nothing but admiration .
There is a scene in the original series where you start the engine for the first time. The look on your face when it actually came to life and started running was priceless and I will never forget the way you looked. In my mind I was saying it's alive it's alive.
For years I wanted a F-250 Super Duty crew cab, 4wd, converted to hydrogen fuel cell technology. No longer. Now it is this truck. My daughter has one still with the 7.3L Diesel but I want the Edison/DeBoss Caterpillar conversion! Thanks Rich! Cheers from Texas.
I can remember our job site mechanic, he was a genius! He had a 1986 (I think) Ford F250 and he did this Cat swap one summer. It was really a good toy for him he spent a lot of time on that rig, it was nice!
crazy motor swap, I mean engine swap, I mean, great job my dude, thank you for filming this all for us. really really well done on all fronts, mad impressive to be able to hone a block and do all this work in house, CNC pretty parts even, AND film it all, and edit the video... very impressive man. mad respect! hope she has another million miles in er~!
My father was a Field Service mechanic for a CAT dealership and traveled across 3 states supporting CAT customers for 35 years in field trucks powered by CAT 3208s his favorite motor. One of his favorite engine swaps he found out about was a 3208 swapped into a F350 back in the 80s I think it was featured in Popular Mechanics…
A great Montage of the build with a good accompaniment of music. I would also say that it has to be one of if not the best real guy builds on the net. No wonder Edison teamed up with you for their medium / light duty prototypes.
This is the move right here! Ain’t nothing like building your own vehicle! Mad respect to this guy! Nothing in this world like building your own custom truck! If you aren’t happy with the end product then it wasn’t your idea to start with!
Hi from Drummondville in Québec, I watch since many years your lot of project and every time it's awesome. I've started a project in 2018 to put a John Deere diesel engine 3.9L in my Jeep JKU and according to me I will finish it this summer. Your a great source of inspiration, you make a great job!!!
I am just blow away at the attention to detail taking everything apart cleaning it building it back better. Not just fix it and maker work. Absolutely incredible work sir.
In the 70s my uncle a bought a wrecked wonder bread delivery van. It had a 4 cyl perkins and 6 speed transmission in it. He put it in a GMC 4 door truck, he was a driller at the time and hauled his crew to the rig with it. Ran about 65 or so on the highway without much throttle, had to cut a hole in the hood to stuff it in. In the 70s mcdonalds had these snorkel type tops on trash cans at the drive thru, looked horrible but worked. Very nice work men.
If I'm understanding correctly, he put McDonald's trash can lid over the hood to cover the top of the motor? Thats hilarious. I hope he left 'Thank You' on the lid!
@@tylerpalmer8722 It was mounted like a cowl induction so Thank You faced the windshield. My uncle was the driller on a rig and my cousin worked on his crew, a OHP stopped them outside of Enid. He was so interested that he let my cousin who was driving go without a ticket. My uncle said when they took off he looked in the mirror to see the OHP standing there with black soot falling around him, said he knew he was going to come after them but never saw him again.
@@brokendad2222thanks for sharing, funny story. I was imagining the Thank You flap opening and closing like a throttle body valve Lol. Of course not realistic but funny to imagine.
This is one of my favorite builds ever and I loved watching as you guys went through it, but thank you for doing this time lapse version as well. Really puts the whole thing into perspective
Nice, just got done watching the 4.5 Cummins teardown video on DGHD and now this pops up...good timing, I have a bunch of stuff to do and now I can procrastinate a bit longer! lol
The fact that every time I thought you were done with something, you pull out paint, insulation and even sound deadening is wild, amazing work... left me speechless and saying "wow" every other minute
That’s ridiculous! Just the sweetest build I’ve ever seen ! I’m sooo jealous! To bad this disabled Marine will never be able to afford a truck like this.
Thats not just a motor swap, thats a complete from the ground up hand built truck. Absolutely incredible. I can't even fathom the amount of knowledge and skill that took.
Every time i feel like I have a big job ahead and get flustered pulling wrenches, im going to watch this video. Holy snappin crap that's a pile of awesome hard work and knowledge 👍👍.
Oeople like this guy are the best. As a young man i had guys like this one show me how to fix my 1987 chevy. I would think it was broken and they would show me how to fix it!
Absolutely phenomenal build! And I'm not even a big fan of diesels. The only thing I would've done differently is to get rid of the automatic locking hubs and swap them for manual locking hubs.
This dude is a professional at life. Seemingly infinite knowledge, money, time, and resources. I love everything about that truck. So cool so detailed, well done.👏👍
My dad said to me, “if I had really gone to school well, I probably would have had a big workshop by now.” Hearing that, I became motivated to make my father's dream come true your work is extraordinary🤯🔥🔥
the amount of work is gigantic, but the result is up to the work done this is one of the most resulted and cleanest builds i've ever seen, its incredible
As someone who maintains a fleet of trucks with 3126s, I'd love to have this truck as a personal rig. Those engines go forever. If this was a giveaway rig, I would sign up in a heartbeat.
