Great tractor and pictures. A lot of commitment. I have so many questions. I would have preferred some captions or narrations in stead of the noise which I muted.
russell379x lol. I was wondering the fuel type too. Looked to have a distributor sooooo... it sure. Maybe meth? Alcohol ? If so. Man. I bet that thing is a beast.
Looked like I seen some crank driven top fuel alcohol pumps, and a distributor, now if you ask me, that's cool as heck for a cat motor, mad props to the builder 🙏🏻
My thoughts exactly lol....if they wanted a v8 cat they should have built up a 3408, but maybe its to heavy....impressive numbers they got out of one of those turds tho.
@@jameswest673 i think some (or all) pulling class' have a weight restriction. being the motors not all the way up front if they ran a heavier engine they wouldn't be able to hang as much weight on the front to keep the nose down if it was needed.
I’d say the reason they didn’t go with a good ol 3408 is because depending on what class they are running the motor can’t exceed a demented cubic inch like 640ci . The 3408 is 1000cu while the 3208 is only 636ci. I want to do the same thing but with a 3306b instead of a 3406b once again because of the class I would be in. The 3306 is 641 while the 3406 is 893. It all depends on the class requirements.
Ruff stuff this is a crazy build i love it. All the comments about the music, so what. I didn't mind the music one bit. But a 3208 cat running a distributor awsome. As my Dad would say. ""Thats using your head for more than just a hat rack"" awesome keep it up
Also looked like maybe a water to meth or alcohol fueling setup, definitely cool if you ask me, and I couldn't give a shit about the music either honestly.
I have mixed feelings, I don’t like the fact that it’s gas, but it is sick as fuck that you had turned a 3208 cat into a gas engine, the time, effort and planning would be crazy! So 11/10, would root for that bad bitch if I were to see it pulling, good job!
That's really interesting that it's got a distributor is that because it runs on alcohol now? Also do you have to add a throttle body? I didn't see one in any of the pictures but that doesn't mean it's not there. Awesome video wish it was more video explaining some of what you're doing.
No throttle body, it's still direct injection but the alcohol needs help getting lite when cold, after its warmed up and building boost it's running off it's own compression by that point
I know you have no idea who I am; but, I'm trying to build up a cat 3208 myself and I was wondering if you still had the drawings or cad files for the bolt on intake ports?
Is there going to be a video made of this one tractor in action pulling or is there already one made I would love to see a video of it I have been to 1 tractor pull in my life and I loved it I am a kid from where there are lots of farm so I love all tractors but when it comes to these pulling tractors they are very impressive to see in action.
@@billallen4793 not really I know the marine versions get up to about 400hp. My 3208’s are marine 320hp versions. I did find some billet turbo wheels that are supposed to fit in the stock turbos but I’m not sure what effect if any they would have.
People need to chill about the music. Who cares if it isn’t your favourite new pop single or techno remix, everyone should be able to appreciate different genres. It’s like religion; you don’t strike someone down for believing in something, simply because you don’t want someone striking you down just because you believe in something.
Was pretty interested in watching till the video started then the crap music really a little narration explaining all the work you did would have been priceless i stopped watching after a min
The music sucks would have been nice to hear you speak about what is going on during the video and it is crazy to see spark plugs on a "diesel" I know it is methanol or alchohol I forget
Neil Neil yeah we did use a cummins motor in our old prostock tractor called White crow but there are so many motors you can use like an internation motor or John deere
The music ruined the video, would rather hear a narration, background noise, or nothing at all.... Not a fan of slide shows either I thought this was going to be informative, not a show off presentation.
Sorry, but this is a total waste of a rare and expensive engine like that. That engine belongs in a work-truck, not a pulling tractor where it's eventually gonna get blown up, as they all do.
The 3208 is a sleeveless iron block, it's a throw away motor, there truly gutless in stock from unless you had a turbocharged one, in which case it didnt make it to 400k, it's doing the best thing it could be doing right here, getting rebuilt every 7 to 8 passes, it could last years this way
@@charlesyork9556 3208 is a good ass motor. If you use it right, not a 80,000 pound semi motor. Great in a grain truck ,a dumper with like a 12 yard box. Hell the best pumper I ever ran had a 3208 and a 1200 gal.per minute pump. Ran a nurse truck with a 3500 gal tank on it, with the same engine. People expect to much out of them, but for a 10 wheeler they are a great motor. Just got to remember, normally aspirated they only put out 200 to 250 horse. With a turbo,I think they were 300 horse. Never ran one with a turbo, myself, heard they didn't last long turbo charged. The tanker I drove had 550,000 miles on the clock, never rebuilt. We use one as an irragator motor on the farm I work at now. Will sit and run 12\18 hrs at 2100 rpms, and use less fuel and requires less maintenance than the 35,000 bucks JD purpose built motor we have. Just gotta use them as intended.
@@tomcline5631 They did very well in marine applications. Water/water heat exchanger, water cooled exhaust manifolds and water cooled turbos. Anything over about 20 PSI off the turbo and you were doing head gaskets often. The fix is to O-Ring seal. In marine applications they can get close to 450 HP and run all day in sport fishing boats running off-shore.. All the BS about throw away motors is nonsense. But they are not the best BIG truck engine. It's all about thermal management. In trucks they get a lot of heat transfer back from non-cooled exhaust manifolds and turbos. Also in marine applications they get bumped to 2,850 governed speed. In go faster boats the can run 3,200 all day. The bottom ends stay alive, even at those speeds : )
