In this video i'm combining a couple building tricks that i've learned during Renowns public alpha test, to build a small 3x3 base. You can find more info about the game here: playrenown.com/
This video is mainly meant to be a showcase of some ideas i had, i honestly wouldnt want to live in that base myself. The doors are so annoying :D And also way too many for how few walls there are
It is very much possible that these building techniques get nerfed in the future, as well as some other changes to the building system and new building parts being added, like external walls. Its all still wip. Raiding has been very easy in that demo, same will go for the next demo that starts tomorrow. The devs made rates and resource density pretty high for now, so raiding mechanics and their impact on server performance can be tested a lot. The entire balance in these demos is not really representive of the games final state id think.
When adding the second walls for the outside how did you get the foundation scaffolding to not snap to the existing floor? Unless maybe they patched this
You can raise and lower foundations with the mousewheel. By looking high up and lowering the foundation, you prevent it from snapping. Thats what i did in this video, but if you want it to line up perfectly, you can also go out with square foundations and then back with triangle ones, to create an offset. Depending how many you go out you can create smaller or bigger offsets
Yeah, if you know the base layout that would be a smart way to get in. Could also catapult two walls down and get in with ladders. And i have definitely gone a bit too far with the amount of doors in comparison to the amount of walls/ceilings that protect the loot :D But i mainly wanted to show a couple tricks and ideas off with this one :)
