minimum tools is a bit misleading. I saw a band saw, router table, drum sander, countless jigs for precision work. No doubt a fantastic job on the guitar, but this was done in a full wood working shop...I am jealous with I had the space and the tools.

No mate, you can't build this at home.. unless your home is a work working shop with all the tools. Plus one would need years of experience and also get the different templates. Great build, good old replica and yes, it would be nice to play it on stage.

I cannot abide the falsness of relic-ed guitars BUT that being made from scratch with such skill is not only an old looking or vintage look tele but a very very nice looking work of art tele that I couldn't possibly afford. Work of art! Bravo.

If you sand down the front of your cutters so the front is flat with the cutting part, you can get a ton closer to the fretboard and not have so much fret overhang to file off. Great build.

You did an amazing job building this guitar, and I hope it plays as good as it looks. I am not a fan of "relic'-ing as I find it contrived and it smacks of fakery and deceit. However, when it is done this way, a s new-old finish, and obviously. not a '54 tele, I like it. Very creative way of laying. on the paint layers, and I REALLY liked how. you left the binding alone as a contrast.

It looks really cool. Editing is on point as well

Your video is a excellent one. Building a guitar is certainly missed judged by most who wish to build a custom instrument. It is no easy task and for most including myself. I have been in a scratch build no kit what so ever and sometimes my thoughts on trial and error occurred to many times.

I do a few things differently. I cut my fret slots and dots and while the fretboard or neck blank(one piece neck) is is still square. I drill the tuner holes when I'm cutting the truss rod cavity while the neck blank is still square. I install 7 frets at a time then lightly clamp them down with the radius block, overlapping the ones that I installed first. This eliminates the need for fret leveling after installation. And you must try a shinto rasp for your profile carve. You'll love it. Very cool vid. I've thought about making one, but am always too busy. thanks for posting. It makes me want to get busy on some unfinished projects. I'm working on a Nashville tele with b bender. But I've been busy and it's been sitting unfinished for almost a year now.

How long have you been building? I just built my first telecaster (still waiting for a good weather day to shoot the nitro finish) and while I'm happy with my work I did a lot of patching/doweling and redrilling etc. The end result came out good but getting my measurements precise and clean didnt always work the first attempt. Any advice? I'm still lacking some of the tools that would make things easier like a drill press, electric planer, jointer, full size router lol so that's certainly a factor. Anyways excellent work, I love the video format. Great work! New sub.

Great work by the builder. Awesome! I love the look, but If it was mine I'd always know it's "fake". In my humble opinion part of the appeal in a relic guitar are the stories of how those dents and scratches happened or the whole gradual decay decay of the paint over the years and years of playing. To me a relic has to be earned.
