In this video we build a complete diorama. We cover lots of tips and techniques that can be used in all scales. Hope you enjoy the video and happy modeling everyone!!!
Another realistic fantastic diorama. I learn a lot from these different build videos to improve on my modeling skills. It is great that you live here in Colorado too. We have a lot of beautiful scenery to give inspiration on modeling terrain on model train layout. I am modeling the Colorado Midland, Florence and Cripple Creek, and Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek District railroads by Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek area. Thanks for shareing your building techniques.Be safe and look forward to your next build video.👍🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
Jason, it's astonishing to see what you can achieve with some pink foam, some styrofoam, and a lot of paint and imagination. You always inspire me. But, please, return to your model railroading roots!
Another amazing model Jason. Love all the detail, the tips and just watching a master do his craft. The time, skill and Patience is amazing. Stay well.
Excellent craftsmanship and quality of the diarama..the only downside is, water naturally widens when exiting from a pipe or drainage pipe ,forming a natural triangular shape.
Hi Jason, I hope all is well and that you are just enjoying an extended holiday break. Looking forward to seeing you extending the layout(s) in 2022. All best wishes to you and yours. Chazzy
I found your channel by accident and got hooked, you inspired me to go shopping and buy all the stuff to make a diorama and its all i do now.You gave me a hobby i love so thanks.
A new subscriber here. I love your style and how you do it. Amazing looking stuff there. I truly enjoyed watching this diorama come together. Thank you for sharing this with us.
No wonder you're proud of this Jason, it really is a beautiful piece of work. I had to smile at the guy nearest the blue door; he needs something for his elbow to rest on, unless you want to give him a scale cup of tea.😂
Jason, absolutely amazing work. Great techniques. I have not seen the use of hot glue for water, I will give it a go. Thank you for sharing. Cheers, and stay safe. Michael
Just started watching your videos. I've been building models for a long time and want to start doing dioramas. I'm learning a lot from you. Keep it up, and thanks.
Great diorama. Surprised that you don't have a static grass applicator. You should purchase one, its really fun to use it. The aged doors are stunning. Look forward for your next video. Regards from the Netherlands. Ronald, Modellbahn Rosenbahn
I use greaseproof paper and PVA white glue for my running water! Once the pva dries completely clear you can peel it off in strips! It's a great way to do waterfalls etc!
Absolute fantastic looking diorama. Stunning! Another video that motivates me to keep trying myself. Thank you so much for sharing your great work. Greetings from Switzerland, Urs

Hi ya Jason, I don’t know how I missed the tank build. I will now go back and find it. This is an amazing diorama. So much atmospheric detail. One can almost smell it. Nicely done. Merry Christmas to you and your family. And thanks for another year’s worth of interesting, informative, and entertaining tutorials. See ya. Now to go look for a tank………
Wow! Exceptional workmanship Jason! Been a fan of dioramas for years but never built one. My father was a WW2 Aviator, few the Hellcat, Dauntless, Wildcat as well as many others. Was on the Aircraft carrier, the Lexington. I've built many WW2 & Vietnam era war plains but really want to start building Dioramas. Could you point me in which way to go, like where's the best place to buy materials like the high density foam and some kits. Sure love your work man, let me know, Thanks!
Thank you so much Jim!!! I really appreciate it! The foam I use comes from Home Depot. As far as model airplanes, I know that Ammo has kits but I’m sure there are tons of companies that sell them. Good luck and happy modeling Jim!
Fantastic build, Jason. I just found your video accidentally. From Indonesia 🇮🇩 modeler and 23:37 that tank ( T-26), I just finished. Turn into Chinese tank Taiwan 🇹🇼 ww2.
Awesome tips on your diorama build Jason.. certainly gets ones mojo working again after slacking off for health reasons.. inspiration for a crack at 1/35 military build will be next project.. thanks again for many shared tips to help.. Happy Modeling.. Merry Christmas to you and family 🎅🎄
Hoi hoi! Happy new year! I really appreciate all the hard work you put into your channel. I’m looking forward to seeing what your channel will bring this year. Hopefully the sci fi build is coming along good.
Hello Jason, brilliant video. I have been military modeling for longer than I have model railwaying, you have done an amazing job on this. I would love to see more military models from you, maybe a far East Dio? All the best merry Christmas Anthony.
Thanks for another phenomenal video! Being able to watch you carve the broken brickwork walls was so helpful. And your painting and detailing is always such an inspiration for me to push my limits on the modeling bench. This might be a bit basic, but how did you cut the stairs so evenly? I always mess that up when working with XPS foam. Thanks again for making these incredibly fun tutorials!
Thank you so very much!!! I cut the stairs with a knife, one that allows you to extend the blade out. I actually had to cut the stairs twice . The first set was a disaster. Lol. Thanks for watching!!! 👍
Awesome video! I have an upcoming scatchbuilt project, hopefully this next year, and you have given me a few new ideas for how to approach it. Thanks again for posting!
Love this tutorial now subscribed to your channel, I do model kits & trains so a double win for me 😊😊 where did you get the roller tool for the cobblestone? That’s a time saver there
Walmart has that color of chalk paint as well as several more including white and their version of black called India Ink. I found a youtube tutorial on one of the model railroad engines that shows how to DIY one of the static devices for setting grass in place.
Watching all the fun you're having with these techniques, creating all the damage, something occured to me: could you incorporate these kinds of effects into your layout? Obviously, wartime damage doesn't fit the bill but maybe the aftermath of a serious storm? A wartime location would probably make more sense but storm damage could throw up some interesting possibilities; with rooves damaged, interiors would be revealed; downed trees embedded in buildings, broken windows etc. It's maybe not as great an idea as I thought when I started typing 😂but, rather than delete my comment, I'll leave it as possible inspiration for someone. It's certainly something I've never seen modelled.
Hello Jason. I have been watching your videos for about a year now and I am amazed with the things I have learned by watching these videos. Watching this video of the diorama and I liked how you did the cobblestone road, where did you get the material for the road and the roller to make the cobblestones. Please keep these videos coming they are great and I learn something new with each one. Thank You George
Thank you so much George!!! The Sculpey I bought at Michelle’s craft store and a friend 3D printed the roller for me. I’m sure you could find textured rollers on line. Thanks for watching!!!
I use the clear thick toy package plastic for making bases for 1/35 scale army figures to stand them for dioramas, I use gorilla clear glue to glue the figure's feet to the bases
That turned out well, you have an interesting skill set for making many different parts of the diorama feel as if it is the main focus thus making the whole scene feel interesting and new finding more detail the more you look at it. I have subscribed and look forward to watching your past and future videos. Very nice work, I find it amazing what people with much more skill than I can do with polystyrene and a mental picture.
When you get your static grass applicator be sure to to check out the Boomer Dioramas instructional video on how to make tufts of grass & hedges. Luke Towan in one of his videos gave a shout-out to Boomer about the video. Luke used it in for making tufts for his projects. Excellent work on this creation you designed.
Hi Jason fantastic video and close up shots as always. Would you consider a video for an n scale diorama explaining if it is worth concentrating on things like individual bricks etc or are there other ways to still get fine detail at a smaller scale. Cheers from the UK Chris P
Hi Jason just found your channel. That is amazing! I love how you were able to make the brick walls out of foam something I have not seen done before. New subscriber. - Nicholas.
Wonderful scene. Is the roller tool you used for the brick road commercilly available or something you made yourself. Would love to get one...what a time saver
Thank you so much!!! I truly appreciate it! My daughter is now away at college, her second year actually. Time is going to fast. Thanks for watching!!!
Very interesting Dude, I've been watching Night Shift and he's been doing some work with a proxxon cutter I liked so purchased one! You show some great brick work in this vid that I will try :) TFS (thanks for sharing) GB :) subscribed
