Emptying your compost toilet will most likely become a chore that you do not enjoy, especially during the very cold winter months, more so if you have snow. In any case, it seems that you have mistaken a 'soakaway'-used for draining away excessive rainwater-with a 'septic tank,' which should never be positioned close to a house. This is where you previously stated your waterlogged area is, at one side of your house, with you assuming that the soakaway became damaged due to excessive materials having been placed above it. FYI, a properly installed and maintained septic tank does not contaminate soil or waterways because the waste is consumed by friendly organisms. Thank you so much for this. The toilet looks great. I have almost all of my materials for my own humanure toilet to replace my flushing toilet. My regular toilet has so much condensation in the winter (I've got a moisture issue which will be resolved once I put in my wood burner), and it's leached into the flooring which now has to be removed (and, also smells!) I'm tired of it, so great to hear your review of this system (I've also heard GREAT things about it...people prefer it).

Ohhh this looks gorgeous. I'm a huge supporter of compost toilets. Made my first one from plywood and it looks horrendous, but it's functional 😂 Took me months too 😅 need to make a video on it some day. Go you! Love it!

2.0 might feature a wide funnel at top for catchment ... but that would require more height, and you have made something suitable and safe for kids, and portable ... but great version 1 ... and great video ... we do need videos like this to promote this concept ... best vid I have seen on this important topic ... 5 stars : ) after 2 years the mix turns to great soil, with absolutely no bacteria etc i.e safe as the cleanest soil
