Everything is really goood: from tutorial and for each step a good choice for video duration. And of course the result is just awesome, we can feel the satisfaction of going inside the self made sauna! Good job! Thanks for sharing !!
This video… is a major freakin awesome. I like that it was super simple and no music and just you doing it piece by piece. Super awesome Man! I think I’ll copy this model!
See; this is awesome. This guy used nothing but a drill, a handsaw and a hammer. Straightforward and simple. Anyone can build it, and that’s the best part! Cheers 🍻
As a finnish sauna user it is fun to watch people building their own versions of saunas. Once i experienced australian version of sauna and it was build using some strange eucalyptus? wood. Dont do that unless you fancy cat piss....
Is there anywhere I can learn about saunas, particularly about "do"s and "do not"s? For example, I never thought about giving some space underneath to allow it to breath, renew air and letting water condensation somewhere to go. Any recommendations for a sauna in a garden?
I really enjoyed this video , i have a small shed like this that was a kids play shed but not used much now. I would just need to insulate inside and board the inside , change the door to a glass one , and get the burner/heater. I have a whiskey barrel already for a Cold dip.. Love it you’re giving me plenty of ideas.
DIY tip. Surface nail and screw heads particularly on the bench would certainly render an unforgettable sauna experience as might any lock on the door.
Beautifully done my brother, suggestion for aesthetics and efficiency, instead of doing the outside corner trim piece by piece assemble it at a 90 and cut it to length before installing and then install it as one piece no matter what it will be straight
Ah this is like the coolest video on RU-vid, well done. Anything you would change? Are you happy with the dimensions and the floor ventilation? God bless!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! One thing I would do differently next time is to use clips instead of nails when attaching the wood to the wall inside the sauna. Clips work better because they give more flexibility to the wood when it swells. The floor works great; fresh air enters the sauna, and the water can flow away. Four grown men can comfortably fit on the sauna stage!
@@Schoko3100 I have no clue, maybe 20 - 25 years? Time will tell. It's all varnished so no problem! The water instantly seep's into the soil, and cap between the soil and the floor is like 30cm.
Suur tänu nii hea klipi eest! Sellest saab minu suveprojekt 2022. Otsisin just lihtsat ja asjalikku saunaprojekti. Leidsin! Loodan, et saan hakkama :) Ahi koos korstnajuppide ja saunauksega on juba tellitud. Ei jõua ära oodata! :)
Nice build, what timber did you use? Looks great, though I think they look better with no paint. Also I would have invested $50 to get a cheap circular saw. All that cutting by hand would have been hard work 😋
@@matsy1000 That's just one way of doing it. It's also good because it makes the air flow in the sauna. Only thing I can say is that I live in Estonia, in Northern Europe and winters here are very cold and windy. I have been using this sauna when it's -15 in Celsius outside and the sauna temperature is +100 degrees in Celsius at the same time. So everything works!
Yes it works! The sauna heats up to 80-90 degrees in Celsius in 40-50 minutes and it maintains the heat for hours. I live in northern Europe and we have very cold temperatures in the winter.
Great job, really. Thank you for your experience. I am going to follow it closely. Just to mention: with the water added, it's not a Sauna any longer, but a Turkish Bath, or a "steam room". The whole point of Sauna is a "dry hot air".
sauna noun sau·na ˈsȯ-nə ˈsau̇-nə 1 : a Finnish steam bath in which the steam is provided by water thrown on hot stones also : a bathhouse or room used for such a bath
Your drill/driver has a driver mode. If you turn down the clutch function you'll stop stripping every single screw. This is so painful to listen to. Otherwise great video.
Very good video... In the next project, use a real sauna stove. ;) The less metal you get in the steam room, the closer it is to the real sauna... Negative ions improve health. Positive ones, that leave metal surfaces are harmful to health. Steam with positive ions is unpleasant and vice versa. You will immediately recognize the difference when it is possible to use different built saunas.
@@nikvist As I already wrote... you choose such a sauna stove that only stones remain in the steam room. There is a large selection of such sauna stoves on the market... Of course, the stones are inside a metal mesh. ...No hot large metal surfaces. Not even that of the chimney... It can be hidden in the stones, analogously to the sauna stove.
@@JamesStrieb2 The effect is not in the strength of the shock wave but in the quality. Some people are used to cheap wine and don't see any difference when drinking quality wine. After all, you get drunk from both wines ;)
GREAT video! Thank you so much for sharing this! (note to self: do something you do well that might help someone else and make a video because it really does help others)

Thank you! I Had low budget so i used spruce on the walls because it's much cheaper. And the heater: www.harvia.com/en/sauna/heaters/wood-burning-heaters/
Love the video. Great work on the sauna 👏 I bet you enjoy it very much! U inspire me to do something similar in my back yard... approx how much did the whole project cost... I have more time than money but I'm interested in this build
Watched three of these and so far, no one seems to be wiling to spring $50 on a jig saw to cut the chimney hole right?!🤣 Good on ya bro! Looking to build one soon!
Peagi plaan ka sarnane ehitus ette võtta. Kuidas see põrand end õigustab?
Edu ehitamisel!
Thank you! At first I made a list and a plan, but when i started building i just did it through my gut feeling. It's an easy build, didn't need much planning.
Yes exactly! Airflow but the main reason is that the water that falls on floor can safely go trough into the soil. PS! This dosent affect the sauna tempreature at all. My sauna gets heated up really fast in like 30 minutes to 80-90 degrees in celsius.
Thank you! Left it open. Works perfectly, air flows in the sauna and water flows straight in to the soil. Sauna heats up fast, even in the winter here in north-east Europe.
Thank you! Trust me, if you live in Estonia where the temperature can go as low as -20..-30 degrees in Celsius then you definitely need insulation because in the end you will spend more money on the fire wood and it will take 2-3 hours more to heat it up without the insulation. And to be honest, I'm not even sure if you can get the sauna hot without the insulation in winter here. But if you live in a tropical country I believe the insulation isn't needed but I would still use it because then I can keep the temperature hot much longer without throwing any fire wood in the heater.
