The soil texture at the site is good enough that we didn't need laterite. It could have just been a waste of money. moreover, the sharp sand was watered for a week and well compacted

We really wanted to save that Mango but couldn't. We had to take it out when we started doing the house profile

That is how it is supposed to be. The polythene holds the sand and prevent cement from sipping into the ground. It also acts as a water proof layer. The wire mesh is a reinforcement for the concrete hence it has to be inside the concrete above the polyurethane
