One thing I noticed about the home chef selling table is your neighbors will come over most of the time. I imagine Norma is the neighborhood grandma and everyone comes over to buy her cakes and pies and spend time in her cozy shop and she lives her best granny life feeding up the whole town.
Can Norma be a part of the lets build the world save file, with her children and grandchildren living in the world as well and they would come visit her and help out in her bakery once in a while. I think that would be a wonderful story line
it always makes me laugh how after a video full of dirty jokes and inuendos, Aden proceeds to have the most relaxing and heartwarming video tours lol! lovely build as always!
I love the idea of the bakery there bc right "downtown" there's the kiosks of local ingredients! I imagine she buys from them every morning or every other morning for ingredients, nice and locally grown. She even gets a discount bc she's been there for so long so everyone knows her and her sweets. Every year she holds like a small gathering for the local vendors/business owners like Sara who owns the pub, the lady with the long braid who sells ingredients, the lady who sells flowers, and the Mayor and her son. She has a personal problem with Agnes crumplebottom so she never invites her lol.
bloody stunning build , I see Norma as a retired Home Economics teacher who decided to open the bakery to deal with the death of her husband who died while judging the best chicken competition, where the winning chicken somehow knew he hadnt voted for her and went beserk and killed him. Her students loved her and brought her the cat when she retired and are all regular customers, as are their parents as she taught them too.!!
Ok but this would make a cute Hallmark movie where there's another bakery across the street that sells a competing specialty baked good. Norma and the owner of the other shop, say...Gerald?, have a quiet feud going for many years. But *something something the spirit of Christmas* brings them together to bake the most sweets the town's ever seen to raise money for some Christmas Eve charity and they fall in Christmas love 😆
Devon Bumpkin - Nice build for the season and cute theme for Christmas. There are all kinds of fun Christmas baking deco and mods out there that would go with this build nicely. In our ‘Christmas Gifts’ episode alone, there are at least half a dozen that come to mind: (Deco) * Tray of gingerbread cookies * Handmade chocolates and lollipops * Black Forest cake * Cream and strawberry Santa cake * Christmas tree cupcakes * Red Velvet cupcakes * Frosted gingerbread house * Cherry brioche (Functional - sweets) * Edible box of chocolates * Yule Log * Stollen * Gingerbread cake * Gingerbread cookies which can be decorated (Functional - drinks) * Eggnog * Hot cocoa * Champagne, wine, and cognac So many of these would probably be awesome to use with this build. Since the title mentions that it’s a festive British bakery - believe there are also functional recipes for mincemeat pie and Yorkshire pudding. There might actually be one for Christmas pudding. Know Icemunmun has a plum pudding. And there’s definitely a cc chair shaped like a Christmas pudding by Simbishy, it’s cute.
Even though the storyline had a sad moment, it made it more realistic. My dad passed this time of the year and there's always some sadness with the holiday festivities.
This build is so adorable! Norma is the cutest, I think she smells like peppermint and baby powder and gives the best hugs lol. Please add her to the HoB save file. Also, Peacemaker is working on walls to match the new flooring so YAY!
You are so talented! This was such a cozy, charming build. Norma reminds me of my gran, I was already spinning a story before you invited us to do so. I think she married someone a little older than her and he retired from his job with a pension and they started the bakery, which had always been a dream of hers, together in their small town (He was very keen to make her happy.) They are well known in the community and loved their quiet life in the flat upstairs, visited often by their kids and grandkids. He passed not too long ago, maybe 7 years, and she wants to carry on with the business that meant so much to them for as long as she can, with Christmas being an especially fond time for her. She does well and also has the pension for security, so she doesn't feel too pressed. On Christmas eve her family visits and on Christmas morning she makes tea for herself and sets out a cup for her husband, as well, and listens to the snow falling while she snuggles into her chair with the fire going and a warm blanket on her lap so her cat can curl up and nap.
I love this idea for using the home chef hustle features, having an indoor selling table! And the build is absolutely adorable. It warmed my heart watching all the sims come in the wintery time!
Why did i have tears in my eyes watching the lil video at the end ? This is adorable😢. Norma sadly lives on without her husband but she is never lonely with all the locals who come to sit and have a cuppa and enjoy her sweet treats and shares lots of cuddles and love with her cat. Oh this is such a vibe indeed Aden. Such a beautiful British festive and magical build. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas 🎄
So refreshing to watch a build that actually works and is playable unlike the cluttered streets and surroundings in the new world. Thank you Aden for keeping it real 👌
This really is such a heartwarming build, I feel like you've really captured the magic of Christmas. I think builds with basic shapes can truly shine depending on how it's presented/decorated, and this has been done so beautifully. Also, did I detect your sim self attending Norma's bakery?
Just finished the most stressful uni week of my life. 4 Courseworks over 10 days. Flat is now clean, Gingerbread candle is on and I'm eating some homemade cookies I made for my friends' end-of-term Xmas get together! Happy as ever to have some Aiden to watch 🤗🤗
To make Norma's story less sad, I'm going to say Norbert died of old age, peacefully in his sleep and his last words to Norma were "I love you". Norma's many children and grandchildren visit her often and she gets plenty of company and help from everyone in the community 💙
I always love your UK inspired builds and so this one is like the others : perfect. It's so cosy and warm and snowy. 🥰 Wish I would visit UK's contryside one day 🤞🤞🤞Winter looks like the perfect time of the year to visit your beautiful country. ❤❄ Also, I like the little story of Norma that you put into your build : the bakery looks alive. 😊
Hello babes. Please don't ever change ❤ always stay your silly , kind hearted and filth self! This build is absolutely adorable and it makes me feel homesick for the UK. Sadly no option to go next year because of other plans but hopefully the year after. There's just something truly magical about those small UK villages and towns. My favorite Christmas movies is The Gremlins, even though it's not even super Christmassy but it's during Christmas and that's good enough for me 😂 I should definitely watch The Holiday again, it's been years and I think I'd enjoy it even more with my more adult eyes. Thank you for this super cozy video. I enjoyed it while eating brunch. Watching your videos is amongst my favorite ways to wake up ❤
I imagine Christmas is an especially magical, but also bitter-sweet time for Norma. As a child she would wait up to see her Father Winter, who is in fact her biological father. Christmas night was the only time she had to spend with him, but despite the distance between them they still had beautiful connection. She has a collection of teddy bears, one for each year of her life, given to her on the one night she shares with her father.
You've outdone yourself yet again, Aden - this is absolutely adorable! I found myself grinning like an idiot while watching the little montage at the end, and I was absolutely here for it. Hope you are well xx
This is beautiful I love it. I live in Florida so I love the wintery builds . I’ve lived here since 1996 and I miss the snow a lot . The snowy builds make me so happy and gets me into the Christmas spirit. ❤
I got so many happy tingly vibes when we got to the video tour - especially when you showed the back of Norma's head and then her knitting from the front - I MELTED. I love this build - and the storyline is absolutely amazing. Happy holidays!
rather than the home chef pack you could just use the retail objects from get to work which actually have bakery items which means you can sell cakes and bread!
@@TeruteruBozusama do they eat there with the home chef pack? sorry i don’t have the pack it was just a suggestion for anyone who wants to have it as a retail lot!
@@anna-yq6ruyup, they usually eat just by the stand, but sit at tables if they find them watch James Turner's latest let's play to see how it works. One townie even started selling nothing at his table pushing his sim out of the way, so it's kind of buggy 😅. I don't mean advertise James' let's play too much here, it's just that I don't have the game myself..!
Aden, I was proud of you for building for this pack so swing away whenever you want :) I built a cafe on this lot a little while ago for my Sims to go hang out and was thinking of decorating it for Christmas. You have inspired me go back and revisit it.
I loved this build, here in Brazil is Summer in December, and we never get to see snow (only in July and only in 2 of the 26 states here, in the south), this build made me want to visit a snowy place in the holidays (not gonna happen)... I loved, I think is one of my favorites so far!
Peacenaker is making or already has made matching wallpaper for the new tiles. ❤ Love this build its so adorable and festive!! The garland and lights you did all around with the tool mod is beautiful and looks perfect!
I think she is a widow in her 60's. She has one son who lives in the village with his wife and 2 children. The children like to drop by after school to see their Nana and to have a delicious snack. She is very content in her little apartment and loves having the townfolks dropping in for tea and treats. I want to live there!
Soooo cute! Love me a festive anything this time of the year but this was perfect! I can't wait to play with it! Also, why do I feel like I've seen the Lacock Bakery in a Zoe Sugg vlog years ago? Reminds me that I miss you vlogging, Aden! I hope we get to see some of that in 2024 😊
Absolutely did NOT rent The Holiday on youtube after you mentioned it. You may have already done this, I'm lazy and I've had six beers so I didn't check but you should ABSOLUTELY build Iris's cottage some day! I'm watching it and I just... her house is just so perfect.
@DevonBumpkin I thought you might have!! It's so beautiful and your skills would absolutely absolutely nail it! Love your work by the way babes! Everything is so gorgeous!
I really hope we do get the lot type where we can live and have retail below. It should be easy now, just assigning the type of retail space by room! I mean, it makes sense now to have that at some point. You did a great build in Cottage Living, one of my faves! The festive bakery is so cute. So pretty with all the snow. Hope you have a Merry Christmas! 🎄
OMG I just love watching you. You always make me laugh. You are such a joy, love seeing you and I saw the baby in the back in her bed. Merry Christmas🥰🐶🌲
Gorgeous build, as always. I see Normas story as she lost her husband around Christmas Time. Until, Old Saint Nick comes into town and tries out Normas cookies. ;)
great build devon i can see that place in cornwall or devon doing cream teas in the garden but will look out place in south london , they go for functional but not pretty in london and while there is a place for bboth i do like the greggs in london bring on xmas ive been on a xmas vibe since mid november as had to order online shopping month early
