Surprise upload!! This is the complete build completely cut, spliced, and edited down into 13 short minutes! Normal Thursday uploads will resume Thursday with the intro to the new project! In the meantime.. enjoy this time-lapse!
Damn man. The effort and patience involved with filming all that plus editing it all into a single coherent video, is no-joke. Congrats on the build, it came out awesome
Thank you! It was a long tedious process doing the editing. Definitely a challenge, but I’m happy with how it came out. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Love it bro, the knowledge you gained and shared while doing the rebuild is awesome not mention your video skills are on point. Congratulations definitely looking forward to watching you grow.
There was a guy on IG that was selling the kits for like $100. He just disappeared one day. Never found out if he got a cease and desist from HD or what.
Hey I don't know if you're still responding but if you don't mind me asking why did you stick with the mechanical cam chain tensioner instead of changing to a hydraulic system?
The crash bar is called the sk8 bar from Down Dirty Fabrication. And the light bar is just a moons MC lightbar that I spliced into my headlight wiring with a toggle mounted in my fairing.
Hell yea, this took me about 4 total roughly. I spent a lot of time waiting on paint to dry, parts at the machine shop, and parts in general. But that’s how she goes sometimes.
@@NattyBumppo Forgive me, friend. My English sucks and I didn't write it right. I asked if you have the paint project you did on your bike. I would like to do it on my bike and I don't know exactly what to buy to get this visual result. I'm going to paint my Dayna street bob 2016 like yours. Thank you.
@@guzmao9506 ah, I see what you’re saying. I ordered the decals from a guy on Instagram named @splittinfatty. It came with all the decals needed. Other than that, just get some primer, black auto paint, and clear coat. I have other videos on how I did the paint in pretty good detail if you want to check them out
@@NattyBumppo Thank you very much, friend. you are very talented. I don't know how your brain can understand so much about motorcycles, I barely change the oil myself. hahah I didn't find the guy on instagram, but I really appreciate your help. I'll keep watching your videos. Thanks
@@joejohnson2447 KB Performance 95” Pistons 11.5:1 compression. Feuling 574 cams, as well as feuling oil pump, lifters, push rods, upgraded carb, and some other minor stuff, ignition, etc. check out all the other videos for more detail!!
@@1979phill all I did to the carb was re-jet it to the recommendation from CV Performance. I can’t remember the jet sizes off the top of my head, I want to say 195/50? There’s a video of me going over the carb in here too. I rebuilt the carb a year or so ago, so all I needed was the bigger jet’s. I also had to fix the choke, and went ahead and did a relocation on that as well.
Damn, I wish I knew how to do this. I took the skid plate off my bike yesterday and it took my 5 hours. Cool video. The only thing I would have done differently is when you hit the start button, you edit in an explosion where all you see is a fire ball
Just stumbled across this as im getting ready to do a frame up build, really curious about those vinyl decals you used, could ya hit me with some info on where to get them?
Man, the guy that made them was on IG, did all his orders through there, but he’s not around anymore. I don’t know if he got a cease and desist from Harley or something. But unfortunately I can’t help ya. Sorry. Good luck on the build. And don’t buy hypereutectic pistons haha.
I really appreciate that man! It was a fun project and I love time lapse videos. If you haven’t checked out the Hagerty time lapse builds, definitely check those out. They were the inspiration for this
If you watch the first video it goes over all the stock specs on the bike. Also there is a video going over all the parts and prices. Thanks for checking it out.
Really nice build, great moment when you rolled bike off stand! Your set up with hyd press, painting area, I enjoyed you taking time on tank stripping too get gold lines as good as possible. I would have only done one thing different, adding newer upgraded hydraulic plate an timing chain pads too replace stock failures!
Yep. The hydraulic tensioners and some head work are coming this fall/winter for sure. Maybe even one of the Feuling cam plates. Not too sure yet. But it’s definitely something on my mind. Thanks for checking the video out!
Appreciate the feedback! It’s the stock 15” windshield. I think I’m going to buy a non recurve windshield here soon though. The buffeting with that thing can get obnoxious.
There was a guy on IG that sold kits, but he’s not around anymore. No idea where he went. Heard a rumor he got a cease and desist from Harley for copyright infringement, but who knows
@@Gunnastream I appreciate you checking it out. I was going to get another kit off him sometime soon for the Road King I’m building, but I’ll just go a different route.
@@owenbruce4120 when I did this build it was around 25,000. No issues, just wanted some more power. Now it’s around 33,000 and I just finished rebuilding it after blowing the rear piston.
@@owenbruce4120 oh yea. Massive power gain going from the stock cams and 88” to the feuling cams and 95” pistons. Even more so with the head work I did. And I think the issue was the hypereutectic pistons by KB Performance. I’ve heard they have a tendency to implode. Got some forged Wiseco pistons this time around. Should be a lot better.
I have too do this on my 03'fxdx twin cam 88. I have the adjustable push rods too cut off originals, but I don't want to cut push rods an I need to clean top end like your doing!I'm adding a sports fairing , like yours here, from the removable sports windshield. I'm also replacing headlight, etc, lights with LEDs. Seems like Harley always getting upgraded! Last upgrade was better bars an Mustang seat.
Ehhhh… it’s something that I didn’t really want to spend more money on. I will for sure be doing it in the future. I plan on doing the Feuling cam plate with the hydraulic tensioners for sure. Thanks for checking it out!
I really appreciate it. It was the first thing I’ve ever painted like that. It needs some touch up work, and I may end up repainting it this winter, but it looks a lot better than it did.
@@NattyBumppo the El Camino‘s getting the „Royal Knight“ graphic package in gold on black. Matching the pin strips is a given, thinking about finding an artist to come up with a tank graphic to go with the hood decal. I want it to be a real head turner if I have to transport my bike in the back of the Camino. There’ll be a video when (if) I’m finished
