Single mum and teen daughter in the Pinterest side, and a career focused bachelor in the Google side, where they become close friends then discover love 😌 Sounds like a chapters book lol (I kinda wanna play it though!)
love how syd goes to such lengths just to please us and for just 1 video, including skimming the entire gallery many many times just for specific items and building things like CUSTOM BOOKSHELVES?! love how much time and care u take with each build, we love u gurlll!!
I would love to see you make a build inspired by Pakistani/Indian traditional buildings. We have rooftop areas where people hang out, courtyards, loads of plants, verandas. I think you'd do an amazing job. You could use items from the oasis courtyard pack. Please please do it I think you'd kill it
sooo true that these modern exteriors feel dated! It feels like an early 2010s holdover to me whereas actual contemporary style has progressed past it for suree. you did an incredible job replicating it though!
omg would be cool to see this kinda challenge mixed with the aesthetic challenge so spin for the aesthetic or style and then search for it + a room like "kawaii kitchen" , "japandi bathroom" , etc.
Build idea: what if you take this same idea but do it inside out. Replicate rooms from online and then try to put them together and make the exterior look good? Or, you could have a number generator pic the room (search a room type and then pick a number and that’s the room you make)
Love that like “wheel chooses my house layout” instead of the number generator tho! Like she could design a house and then we could end up with a kitchen in a 2x3 room and a bathroom on a balcony 😂
would be super cool to see you do this challenge but start with the inside of the rooms so they’re super accurate, then assemble them into a way that makes a cute exterior in the end❤
About the black platform trim, I've had the same issue... Sometimes I use a black wood trim. I believe it's under the red wood picture. There is both vertical and horizontal wood 😊 I hope this is useful ❤️ Thank you for all the amazing videos you make! You are my absolute favorite simmer!!! ❤️
I’ve been watching every upload since your start on RU-vid and I just have to say thank you! ❤ I know it’s a lot of work editing and making the best builds and we appreciate you!
I’ve been following your channel for couple of years. I found it’s a great way to learn English from your videos because of your clear voice and your enunciation. 😂
i think a cute video idea would be to take your houses current floor plan and style and " renovate " it to your desired floor plan and different style than it is now :)
Even though I love how you do the inside of the houses, I am amazed by your exterior building skills! I would love to see you build a micro home on the biggest lot (64x64 I guess) and the rest of the area should be landscaping/outdoor activities. Wish you well, Syd!
6:13 this style is more contemporary. I like this style and modern style but personally I would rather an older style house like a colonial or Victorian style house. also there’s a mod for a spiral staircase. I’m not sure how well it works though
I must say, I am extremely uninterested in building for the Sims. I refuse to do it, and I don’t enjoy watching others do it. Except you! Your builds and designs are always so nice!
Just had this crazy idea for a build challenge similar to this! I keep seeing people on here suggesting build styles from different parts of the world and whenever you google "house", the results are obviously gonna be very americanized. So, maybe you could translate words like "house" or "mansion" etc. into other languages and then put those into Google images for some more varied results? 🤔 Could be fun to try some vastly different architectural styles and would probably work for exterior AND interior! ☺
Is the Google kitchen missing a fridge or did I miss something? I do really love your builds and really want to see about using them in my gameplay at some point!
I think I liked the Pinterest side better. Mostly because that teen room was chefs kiss. Hoping you do some more builds like this and especially more of your color aesthetic builds.
It's so cool cause both sides definitely have their own personalities that seem to be consistent throughout the entire house. I could imagine what type of people lived in the houses
I remember being subscribed when you first started and didn’t even have 5k yet and I’m just happy to be along for the ride and watch your channel grow!! Your content has always been top tier
I don't know but I love both! They both fit the overall themes and could see such nice people living in there! Very cute overall love seeing it all come together
video idea : google vs pinterest but with a color wheel. for example, you start off in the living room, you use a color wheel to choose a color and let’s say it chooses yellow. you look up yellow living room on both google and pinterest and use the first picture that pops up. you keep going with all the rooms till you are finished. like purple bathroom, pink kitchen, red bedroom, etc
Idea: spin the wheel for two styles. Then each time you search for "style" bedroom i.e modern bedroom etc. Get all your photos then build the exterior to accommodate the rooms you need. Do the same for the second townhouse
For the column thing at 7:06, you can draw a small halfwall on the second floor lining the roofing and then you can drag the column higher :) hope this explanation makes sense!
I love them both!! They're both so different. The Google side of the duplex is giving adult roomates. Very clean and modern. Maybe classy business partners. The pinterest side is very much a single mom with a teen daughter.
What’s funny is the Pinterest side is like my imagination side. The one I would use more in my sims homes but the google side is what I think my home irl more reflects. Except I have all red appliances in my kitchen including my fridge and stove.
You’re genuinely my favorite RU-vidr. I can watch you in all moods! When I’m sad, immediately know your videos will cheer me up and make me feel okay again :)
I cannot believe it…..cause the pic you got for the google bedroom is legit my new bedroom dressers and end tables! Side note: love your videos! You care so much and have so much creative talent! Thanks for all the tips too!
Modern houses like these always remind me of the Caliente and Lothario houses from Pleasantview in Sims 2. And those are from 2004 lol so I agree, ‘modern’ doesn’t seem like the best word for that style. I guess the word is more like an architectural type, but I’m not sure how that all works. I wonder if they added the ‘midcentury’ part of midcentury modern later on 🧐
I would love to see this challenge but incorporate kids into it! Like kids playroom, kids room, teen hangout, etc… thanks for producing so many great vids syd!
Video idea: Inverted colours challenge, invert the colours of your screen - do a whole build - then put the colours back to normal! I saw a TikTok of someone doing it and it reminded me of your videos 🥰
i feel like i get what u mean that those super-modern homes feel almost dated! they kind of feel like a fad to me which makes me feel like they're dated despite being "modern" love your vids
I agree with that type of "modern house" feeling dated. It seems over the top and bulky while current modern houses seem to lean towards being more minimal and "sleek".
how about you do this challenge the other way? Like you build the rooms first like the pictures and then figure out the exterior? so u will be able to get the room proportions right and there's still a challenge because u will be figuring out the outside
hey syd im not sure if u noticed or not but thanks to dream home decorator some of the chair/sofa pieces have a cog wheel and u can turn them into corner pieces as well as backless pieces
you could do a chalenge where if you pulled something out of the menu thing with all the items, you cant put it back. like if you pulled out a table to see how it looks and you dont like it, you cant put it back and get something else
Idk, those kinds of modern houses for me have like two very distinct vibes. It's like 1960s-1990s idea of the future of houses and like those really awesome geometric tattoos but done by a drunk guy who bought a tattoo machine off amazon and also can't draw.
