Building a loader for my Vintage Cub Cadet Garden Tractor V2

This is the continuation of working on this garden tractor loader. Getting
the uprights braced good and a bar around my head for a little safety, but mostly for eventual cab/top and light mounting. Just getting everything
welded to the frame where I can start getting it back to a running, driving tractor so I can start putting all of the loader stuff on it.
These videos are meant to give you ideas and inspiration to work on your own projects. This is my hobby and I am not a professional welder or fabricator. There are probably better parts and better ways of doing things, but I use the parts and tools that I have already or can get cheaply

I thought about a loader idea for a similar build. But now I'm trying to build a self loader dumper. Should meet my needs better. I'm using a cub cadet frame with hydrostatic trany and a 6hp gas motor to power the hydrostatic and hydraulics. It is conceptual right now but I do have most of the parts for the build. Looking for the ideas I haven't thought about before I get started. Best of luck with your project.

Like someone commented in the first video, I've never seen a vertical shaft engine in one of these old cubs. Whoever did that should have turned the engine 90 degrees the way you did to avoid having to hack the frame and hood. I have a 1650 I'd like to build a loader for and i think your series of videos are going to be a big help. Looking forward to watching the rest of them.

I knew some things needed to be fixed, and other things were a complete surprise. It had already been altered so much that I didn't feel as bad about altering it a little more. lol

@@kevinscreations4486 I wouldn't feel bad about modifying it. These things weren't meant to be museum pieces. I'm in the process of refurbishing mine now and I keep thinking about getting rid of the Kohler and using something that has a full pressure lubrication system.

Really enjoying your videos Kevin I have a 782 Cub and am wondering if the hydro pump that is on the 782 would be sufficient enough to run the four cylinders fo the loader I plan on building. I am gathering ideas now for the build soon I hope Thank You for these Videos!😊😊

Thanks for watching. Everything I have seen about using the original pump for the cylinders also, is that you can really only operate one control at a time. Also you can't be driving while operating a control or it will stop quickly. I plan to add hydraulic power steering at some point and will add that on the drive pump. It works well being able to drive and operate the cylinders at the same time.

did that tractor come with a hydraulic pump ? And what model is it ? Thanks.

Yes, it has a pump for driving and to operate a cylinder to lift the deck. It is a model 1450 year 1975.

Couldn't you have used the pump that's already on it to power the loader ? @@kevinscreations4486

@bebsmusic7435 you probably could, but I don't think it would be enough to run everything. I have heard that if you use the one pump, you can only do one function at a time. So if you were to try to lift the bucket while driving, it would stop moving. With the two pumps, you can do everything at the same time, drive, tilt the bucket, and lift the arms.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm new to the hydraulic world@@kevinscreations4486

@bebsmusic7435 This was my first time dealing with hydraulics also. I had to do a lot of research, but mostly I just jumped in and learned along the way. I made mistakes, but I'm glad they weren't too costly.

Thanks for watching. I hesitate to show every step sometimes because I think it might get boring, but I know the people that are truly interested in what I am doing will appreciate it.
