I’ve been watching your channel for about a year since I’ve discovered you, you are my go to sims creator! I love how creative you are and your personality is glowing! ❤
This kit definitely makes me think we are getting fairies added to the game… think about it a game pack the Sims 4 Fairytales.. and then maybe it will not only introduce fairies but also have wayyyy more castle like interior stuff that would fit well with this kit! Idk more of a hope than a possibility though 😂 but always love your builds Syd💯 you are hands down the best Sims 4 builder imo! ❤️
There’s not really any correlation between this kit and fairies getting added. This kit was voted on by the community, it might not have even existed otherwise.
A Syd vid!!!??? Yesssss!!!! That is a massive build HOLLLY SMOKES!! Would’ve been cool to get castle decor and furniture though… I appreciate the honest review!!
I would love love love to see a more medieval build with this pack!! Like a medieval castle or a wizard’s tower (or a castle with a wizard’s tower lol) As a dnd fan and ren faire employee, this appeals so much to me and I’d love to see what you can do with it!
I think this is on par for kits...but I think a Castle "kit" would have been better as a stuff pack, to include more interior/game play pieces...once again...quick out to make a buck kit from Sims
I just want to say that I absolutely love you & your videos. I am Bing watching your entire channel. I love your builds & I love the characters you create. You are absolutely amazing 💕
In Italy we have "il castello delle cerimonie". Basically Is a Castle where cuples celebrate they're weddings in big, there Is a lot of food and fancy stuff, It's huge.
I am not a builder very much a gameplay person but I download builds from the gallery so I will buy the kit so I can download things other simmers made. ❤ Like this amazing castle.
I wish the kit came with a throne 🙊 and maybe a super fancy bed. Video idea, try to recreate a castle kit build without the castle kit and maybe with just base game Also romantic garden stuff would go well with this kit, with the floor and wall swatches that have the flowers 😻
I’m probably not gonna buy this kit right now, because it’s lacking a bit in my opinion, but damn this is beautiful!! That bridge part with the fountains and the landscaping 😍
Omgosh, I don't know if you watch Let's Game It Out, but this is exactly what Josh does on that channel. Playing a game, notices something can be done multiple times and then says, "Nope, stopping what I'm doing, we have to see if there's a limit, HOLD PLEASE!" 😆 Also, quite a beautiful build!
Can you do a build challenge where you spin a wheel for a random colour and once you get your colour you have to build with only that colour and what that colour represents? (example: purple typically represent royalty, so an all purple very fancy/royal bedroom)
I always love your videos because they are extremely helpful when it comes to ideas and a helpful guide through all kinds of packs, kits and expansions!💛 (apologies for the rant in advance, i finished history of art lol) I was so excited for this castle kit, but I'm kind of disappointed... What's worth to remember, is that with medieval castles there are two main styles, romanesque and gothic (pre-romanesque being the third I guess). With this kit, most of the items (which there aren't that many lol) tend to lean more into romanesque, while the windows are way more gothic with higher arches that come into a sharp end, usually with stained glass inside. I know Sims isn't the most realistic of games but if they decided to put the spirits of both of the styles into this kit, maybe they could've had more smaller, red brick patterns for gothic buildings and smaller square windows for the romanesque style? It's just one of those things where it feels like the bare minimum was put into this pack, where someone typed "Medieval buildings" and copied the most popular things as if it wasn't period that spanned for around 1000 years of history. For the interior, a lot of castles tend to have the same interior as exterior due to wall paint not really being a thing, but usually they would be decorated with all sorts of tapestries or paintings and there's literally none of here? It's such a missed opportunity to add more sims-medieval twists onto tapestries like they did with the llama gargoyles. It feels like another kit that not much care or thought was put into it? If it's a kit made for a specific audience already, simmers who like building castles, it feels pretty disappointing that you have to rely on packs like vampires to finish your build. It honestly barely feels like a kit at this point, since I feel like some base game updates get more items for both CAS and build-and-buy. In the end I think even for simmers who enjoy playthroughs through history, this pack will be something not worth buying because you can achieve the same look by mixing vampires, high school years and get together. Thankfully your good vibes didn't make this experience as sour💛💛💛 I hope this ramble was warranted as I just wanted to share my thoughts on medieval themed things💛
Great video (as always) but I'm missing a house tour at the end of the build :( it's the most exciting part of the video for me, it will be amazing if you did it! Love you girl
They took away the stair railing update. The railings would disappear if they were covered by a wall, but they also disappeared if you attached a fence to them so you couldn’t really have a mesa-nine.
Ok, hear me out this is going to sound really weird…but what you think of doing a Clue inspired build? Like the board game? And then it could be a mini Clue series. 1 Murder house build, 1 character creation video (because the Clue character are kind of iconic), and then a mini playthrough to see who kills who. Idk I just think it would be neat and the castle reminded me of the board
I just want to it will be cool to see like you this royal family lived in a fairy tale world in the princess ran away and she found this cute little cottage and that started like a let play
I'm a little sad about this only being a build kit, but the weathered and overgrown swatches have completely sold me! Can't wait to make some fantasy overgrown castles hidden in the woods! But does anybody know if Syd has a creator code I could use when buying this (and a couple of other kits)?
i have never built a castle but i still got the kit, because i just have to get them all lol, and like you suggested i started small but i went real small and made a 1 bed starter castle with a moat! Goth on a budget ...i felt very underwhelmed too, i like what we have but i knew they couldnt do a castle themed paxk as a kit
The castle kit I’m surprised they made work cause build kits tend to lack the nevessary items to be used properly but we’ve got a variety of windows, a variety of doors, all sorts of build items that work together. I think they did a really good job with it! The goth kit tho…. idk. It just doesn’t feel particularly unique to me. I think they could’ve taken it further and given us more visually impressive items that stand out from what we already have. Would’ve loved more fun accessories too.
Here's an idea for a build/play. Buldoze all lots in one of the worlds, place that castle on the largest lot, add some stables and horses from the horse ranch pack so the knights and the court can use them. Use the for rent pack and stuff from vampires/cottage living/other packs to put small medieval style towns/villages on other lots and make the ruling Sim/royal family the landlord. Build a royal dynasty. Have an actual wizard or witch from realm of magick be the royal mage and advisor. Have mermaids live in the moat/the sea or lake nearby. Use for rent on the castle as well and apart from the royal family move in servants, lords and ladies of the court, all in medieval clothes (I believe realm of magic, vampires and get famous have lots of fancy cas options). Hold an actual medieval feast as an event with singing bards, jesters teling jokes and wizards perfrming tricks as entertainment. Have an arch nemesis of the royal family- an estranged family member, or perhaps a vengful vampire/ warewolf trying to win over the hearts of loyal subjects and take over the throne :D Now that sounds like a challenge.
I loooooove your videos!! You are seriously my FAVORITE builder!! I had an idea though .. could you start doing a final walk through after you finish them? I love seeing how you pulled everything together.
I was hoping there would be more build and buy. I feel like the castle is lacking a lot but that's why it's only a kit. I'm only talking about the kit, not the beautiful castle you made ❤😊. Sydney I love your videos and so does my one year old he loves your claiming voice 😁💕💕.
I’m not a builder so I’m not thrilled about this kit. However, I’ll probably buy it later because I know there will be beautiful builds in the gallery.
I miss the Sims3 mechanic where we could shift click railings so it only added one side!! I don’t use railings anymore because I’m tired of it adding to walls I don’t need it !
Personally, while I think there should've been much more to it, I like this kit, speaking as somebody who likes to build Gothic Victorian and otherwise European homes. It doesn't stand on its own two feet, but it will complement things like the Vampire an Get Together(?) packs, which I use a lot in my builds.
Seems like the general consensus is underwhelmed for both kits. I got them both for Playstation for my kid to play but hadn't tried it yet nor bought it for PC. Great build, love the wedding venue idea.
I just finished building a castle myself and I really like the kit😊. Am I the only one?? Do I think it’s necessary.. not really especially if you have discover university and get together. I feel like you can create something similar with those packs. But I do think there is enough items to build a nice exterior. I am upset though that we did not get a spiral staircase but I guess they would not put such a highly requested item in a kit 😑
