@Frank Abignal man.... I just gotta say people like you just need to ignore us if that’s how you feel. Let’s say someone doesn’t have family who really cares at home and they come here because they feel welcome. If you few the need to reply with something like that, you may be making them not feel as good about themselves. It’s sad to see you hating on someone. I don’t know this person and I don’t know their background and that was just a scenario that I used for an example but please don’t. EDIT: I was looking at some of your other comments on this channel and you need to stop. All you’re bringing here is hate and just leave if you don’t like Evan and his following, just LEAVE
@Frank Abignal 🤡🤡when you comment something negative on every video even tho you watching him and no life being a negative person to bring down peoples moods
I’ve been working in HVAC most of my life and the most important steps in the installation is a pressure test and vacuum of the copper lines. You want absolutely 0 air in your lines, which is why I’m iffy about these DIY systems. Although I’m iffy about them I’d like to see how these systems hold up. Keep us updated these please!!
Just commented the same. Most of these “DIY” systems are caveated with a statement that a vacuum has to be pulled on the system for the warranty to be in place.
@@brph9719 no reason to hate on Evan at all let the man use his money the way he wants I just don’t agree with the whole “MrCool DIY” idea/company it’s a literal scam
I have installed ACs that didn't have that DIY copper lines the whole summer and yeah the custom copper lines are a pain in the ass, they tend to leak very easily, but that preloaded makes it look much easier 👌 love your vids by the way!
I fully know it's a DIY set and no hate on the install ... the excess line drives my OCD crazy (coming from an HVAC tech) but hey good job my friend, it will help alot to keep that big shop cool!
These werent installed properly 😬 You have to pull a vacuum on the lines before charging them. You can also easily shorten the lines with a $30 flaring kit. You also should use a bend tool for bending the copper instead of doing it by hand, which most likely kinked those lines.
@@michaelfloyd8928 no the air came out when he opened the lines. This was a easy way to “vacuum” the system. Its possible to do it this way but its not allowed in our country.
You don’t have to pull a vacuum on the MR. Cool systems. Their lines come evacuated along with the head unit. Once you compress the line into the special fittings it breaks the vacuum and allows refrigerant to flow through. This is why it’s considered a DIY kit. You don’t have to do any flares or pull a vacuum. If you look up the system they use it’s a lot like the systems they use to use on mobile homes.
We built an entire house in less than 30 days during the time of Corona, and the experience was like drug smuggling because Quarantine and i have one thing to say, it was great😂🤣
You need to vacuum the line set with vacuum pump to 500 microns before you let the refrigerant out of condenser. You are going to have problems within a month
The only thing the kit doesn’t tell you is to vacuum out the lineset to remove any moisture and air before releasing the charge into the system, mini split compressors are super sensitive so hopefully y’all get lucky and the system last’s. Btw not making it up been an hvac and installer for 8 years and here in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 that’s what we install %90 of the time. Keep up the good vids tho
@@tannerkelly1099 no the gas you heard was the valve opening releasing the refrigerant from the condenser into the line set and evap coil and even if the lines came with a vacuum, as soon as he took off the caps on the lines you would’ve lost all your vacuum
But the custom copper lines look neat and organized instead of having coiled up lines outside. As an hvac guy these mr cool systems are absurd regular joes should no be allowed to install these things we actually have to go work on these mr cools because how bad people install these
Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ru-vid.comUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
They're pre-charged. You don't want to cut them. No issues with oil trap, unless you're using extremely long lines or height differences, then you'd add bends.
My teacher suck , she only asks one person for an answer, she doesn't ask no one else , if the person does not answer , she walks out the class , if other persons answers , she shouts on them
You forgot to pull a vacuum bro, your not gonna get full capacity out of these units and they will only last about half their life’s since you didn’t pull a vacuum.. great install but you missed a very big step in the installation process
i was wondering the same thing. almost tought the lines themself's are already in a vacuum...gues not eh xD after couple of years he can change the compressors in these things :D
the outside unit is filled...not the inside or the lines... You connect the lines then put the gages on it, pull a vacuum on the lines and then you can open the valve's... He just connected the lines and opened the valve's on the outside unit without having a vacuum on the lines and inside unit. big mistake tho ^^
I’m dead Evan your just like amazing 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Edit: Victoria said I’m here to help you cause I care seconds from when he proceeds to head butt said “thick packing” xDDDDD
Man I needed that motivation in the end, I’m having this extremely bad experience with college and I wanted to drop out at the end of this semester but what you had to say really made me think over what I have and how fortunate to even be taking classes. I feel terrible about the type of attitude I had towards college but it helped hearing that advice. THANK YOU
