Building a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 in 18 minutes! 

The 3000GT is a highly underrated car. With just a few changes you can really make it look stunning, not only by the standard of its era, but by today's as well. It's a shame Mitsubishi has gone away from making the cars like this that truly defied convention. Thanks for preserving yours and really making it look like a million bucks!

This video invoked so much nostalgia for me. As a kid, I watched my neighbor build up his 3000GT into this beautiful metallic burnt sienna monster. To this day, he's the reason I got into cars in the first place. Watching the progression of his build was the highlight of that era of my life. Love the car man, great work!

Mitsubishi. when they want can make some legendary cars. Eclipse, eVo, 3000gt, I just purchased a 2022 outlander SEL and again Mitsubishi doesn’t disappoint it’s a head turner I get complemented a lot.

ps regardless what you think way more mechanically inclined that me. racing a 2.2 cavalier rally sport 99 5 speed back in the day on the dirt roads from Georgia taught me how to express what I fell and what it needs and my buddy got it done every time :p yet my 2015 vw golf tsi with the stupid abs and grip system where it slows wheel spin to go over snow etc can't make the times I could in that car.. the damn thing don't even have cruise control and the car did both 5 speed like I haven't stalled out in years till a delivery in the snow up here in Wisconsin and its like how am I supposed to know where to throttle and clutch work when it does its on thing in that situation I don't get it lol im stupid

Mitsubishi once had the evo, 3000gt and eclipse. Lets not forgot the proper, very capable suvs they made as well that were ACTUALLY suvs! What a shame what has happened to that brand. Great build btw!

These were badass cars back in the day kids. The dodge stealth was similar with different bumpers lights, badging etc. but was essentially the same car. I remember seeing rx7s for under 20k in the late 90s early 2000s. I have to imagine those are 3 times that price now. It appears you can still get vr4s for decent prices.

こんにちは グランツーリスモシリーズをやりこんだ者です。この3000GTは最終型のライトでツインターボのようだが、 日本仕様の三菱GTOの最終型は、ツインターボが四角く高いリアスポイラー。 最終型で湾曲して低いリアスポイラーはNAのGTOSRです。 （ちなみにツインターボ+湾曲リアスポイラーの組み合わせは1996で、ライトが小さい４つの組み合わせ) もしJDMを極めたいと思った時は、年式+エンジン+ライト+リアスポイラーの組み合わせの参考にしてみてください。

I have a 95 3000gt base model, and I wanted to supercharge it, but that twin turbo sounds sick. Just figured that since it is a base model, the supercharger would fit it great. I was also trying to mod a six speed in it without the rear end somehow. Thanks for the video. Keep that car bro there hard to find in my area.

Love it. THey don't get enough attention/respect. Always was one of my favorites. Though, I do love them all (300Zx, Supra, NSX, FC/FD, 3kGT/Stealth, MR2, Skyline)

What tool was that, that you were using to trim the new front bumper?

I never really took notice of GT3000's before this video, to see one in detail and watch someone put time and effort into it made me a fan,they are a fine looking car 👍,nice work man.

SL owners can be a help or a PITA sometimes.....the vr4 owners have been very helpful in all of the tech support....however 2 areas of concern when buying.....THE ECU AND Maf..... if u get that dreded misfire .... just remember the ecu is year specific...... 😅

The Caracas Red was never my color, but this came out very well painted. Interior definitely looks way better in black/charcoal vs cream/tan. The rainbow spoiler never grew on me with the thick "love handles" they gave it on the edges (though I understand why they had to do it that way). I see the inside of the arches was painted black to deminish the width of the arch legs. I always though if I absolutely had to have the rainbow I'd weld steel extensions to the corner edges of hatch, following the contours & integrating them into the corner pices. Then recast the rainbow spoiler with a thin profile from leg to leg in fiberglass or carbon fiber. Boom, no more "love handles" but way too much work for that. Due to the wide rectangular rear end of the car imo the oem Combat spoiler is the best choice, though its really about 25% too tall (which is why some call it park bench lol) from perfect but imho still the best choice overall. Never thought about deleting the rear wiper but the more I think about it, its really not very necessary so yeah I'd do this but if paints gonna hit that, no unsightly plug for me, I'd weld that sucker flat. This video is was more focused on the Show than the Go's which is cool but I'd love to see more videos from you with this attention to detail on the drivetrain. I just found your channel & will look around to see. Enjoyed the video! Subscribed.

The only slightly negative critique I have, has nothing to do with the car. We'll get there in a second. Ok, and this is obviously completely subjective, and is ONLY my opinion. When you were going through the exterior resto, the all around shots after each step were great, but after that, they were kind of too much I think. If this were mine, firstly I'd be a very happy man, and dare I say, it wouldn't be as nice lol, but anyways. My video, there we go, yeah. If this were my video, I would have done one of those long sweeping slow walkarounds at the beginning, step one. I'd have done another when I was done with the paintjob, and then I'd have done another, featuring the hood up and down, at the very end. I'd have put more of the back breaking wrench time, and a little less of the walk around looks. If that is the only thing someone would say to me about my video edit? I"d take it more as a compliment, because that's really just a minor nitpick. That's really all I could find out of the whole thing, that I feel could have added to the video. I also don't think the way you did it took anything away, so is it really a nitick, or more of a "I'd have done this instead" where neither is wrong? Or am I totally wrong? Who knows lol. Onto the point of the video, that insanely beautiful wowmobile up there. You my guy, have a very VERY BEAUTIFUL car! The things you chose to do, were absolutely perfect, and you did ONLY what the car needed, and left as much as you could, of what it already had. You struck a very fine lne balance, between looks, performance, and class, and you nailed it perfectly. I've got a thing for black cars, so I was slightly sad to see it go... slightly lol. I will admit that when I saw the wheels, they didn't work for me, until they did, and I fell in love with them. That's after body paint. Then they went from "are they the right ones? I'm not sure" to "holy crap, he knew what he was doing, didn't he? perfect!" Even the order of the choices you made was great. Let's get it running, ok now let's get it looking right! Alright, now let's give it some ass! That's exactly how I'd have went too. I am curious, you had the interior dyed/painted right? Not replaced? I did an 03 Suburban, where I did a mix of both. When I was done, it was a Yukaburbaladahoe lmao yukon/suburban/escilade/tahoe. So when you had all the interior laid out in a "look how big a job this is" kinda way, I was like "I got ya big job" lol. I loved this build, I love the restraint you showed in the choices you made, and I love just how classy you kept it. VERY well done! So glad I didn't see stickers all over a formally beautiful car, that ended up with it's rims facing straight up, riding on sidewalls, with a 4 foot wing on the back. THIS people, is how you do an automotive icon! This is what it deserves! Oh, maybe I'd have saved the epic space fantasy music for the last walk around, but that's just me ;P

Mitsubishi is like dark horse of Japanese car. U say japanese car its will be toyota nissan n honda .. but Mitsubishi really good.i still hahe 1973 lancer which only 1.3 but reach 400hp .and yeah .... Simple mod already make the car great.the original engine that 1.6 destroy and i get myself lancer engine which the only one pass the car custom.,.and chepaer.

Why do people spend all that money on these little tuner cars? After all that, a c7 z06 will still demolish it. And that's stock, with all the work put into this tuner, you do just a small amount on the z06, it would embarrass it. But then, that's just my opinion.

It's a such a good looking car. They unfortunately came with one of the worse transmissions ever made. Swap out the trans and you'll have something bulletproof and stunning

i love the design and the history of this car but i will never be happy with a transversal engine, matterfact i will be bothered if its a v6 or v8 transversal, simply NO!

Beautiful car, but very heavy and not reliable, they were also extremely expensive for what you got. Interestingly, there were like 15 different spoilers during the production of the car, if I remember correctly.

These cars looks awsome even from factory!..only thing that is a huge minus is that they dont ever sound great, a guy build one with 900whp and singel turbo with that engine and even with that much hp and rebuilt, it didnt sound good :/
