I'm so happy you kept the Viaduct in its right place. They changed it for Deathly Hallows Part 2 and made it into a bridge leading to an open field. It made no sense.
This is so amazing! I have always wanted to make hogwarts, so I CANT WAIT to see the final project! Have you considered resin for the lake? I think it would be the most realistic, and there are a lot of tutorials for using resin in dioramas. Boulder Creek Railroad is a great diorama channel and he uses a lot of different water features if you wanted to look in to it.
Thank you very much! 😄✨ Yeah, I have glanced at it, I think I will make a "Trial and Error" video with different materials to see what works best for me 🙃 Thank you for your suggestion! I'll check out his channel! 😁
No problem! If it’s okay, I have some questions for you that I was hoping you could help me with. (Just about having a crafting channel and making products from copyrighted brands) Is Instagram DM the best way to ask you?
It seems that you spend much of you time and effort in creating & perfecting small details. I really respect your commitment to that aspect. In my opinion, any time you spend on the details repays you many times over in the overall effect of your projects. Thank you for all your videos!
I began too working on a model (i make it out of folded paper) mine is approximately doubled in size but i still struggle with details, for example the windows of the grand staircase rower or dumbledores office look really messi... maybe it is because it is a different medium or it is just because i do not have the same amount of patience ... thanks for sharing your model! it is soooo great!!!🤩😊
I sure hope that your professors gave you a PhD for that...! It is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen!! And I am not a big Harry Potter fan... You did an wonderful job on that model and should be so proud:) Like everything you do it is just WOOOOOOOW! PEACE:)
I still don't understand why WB hasn't made a papercraft model so everyone can assemble some version of Hogwarts! This is obviously worlds beyond what that would probably look like. I'm so inspired by this and other videos. I'm already replicating the golden egg project and this has me itching to go buy a stockpile of plasticard and try experimenting. I'll learn from your mistake though and try to film everything
I thought about making a Hogwarts castle many years ago but it was way too daunting lol. So I would love to see any tutorials and the finished product!
Will you post the plans for everyone to have a go? I'd love to try but so far the plans I've seen are not the best. Looking amazing though! Doll house lights are simple to use but those led strips you can get easy solder
it loooks sooo greatt!!! the blueprint isn't from the last movie, but it is from movie 6, also it is my personal favourite variation of hogwarts, the graveyard infront of the great hall is still normal size and the viaduct is a connection between the two sides snd not between hogwarts and the surrounding areas
This is amazing concept. Would you consider epoxy resin for the water? Please tell me you are doing the Whomping Willow? Larger creatures would be easier than people I think, or the flying car.... You have an amazing eye for detail. As for the season/s... you could do all four seasons and each quadrant in a different one? Hugs from Halifax
This is incredible, going to have to get a copy of that book for the floorplan! How did you determine heights of walls and towers and window placements please?? Your end result looks absolutely perfect, I'd love to make one in a larger scale but can't stand the idea of guessing details. Would love to know where you got your other measurements from! And would also love to see more of this of course!!!
Omg this is amazing!! I had to work with this material to make a project for uni last year (i had to build a super 8 camera) and it took me like almost two months lol it was so difficult for me!! You did an amazing job!!
Thanks for your video :) I would like it build bigger for my best friend, because she is a Potter head and love all things from harry Potter my idea is the hole world from harry Potter building :) I mean hogwarts, 9 3/4 train, the forest with the sea where harry has his first patronus (sorry my english is not good I'm from Germany) my building start is next year :)
Cats and miniature models are often a bad combo. The previous cat I had was as loyal as a dog and wanted to participate in everything I did and if I worked on miniatures she had to sit on it. She was a tiny Wegie mix who didn't even weigh 3kg so she never broke anything and she was always very gentle too. I can imagine a giant Maine Coon like yours would do some good damage though. XD I do miss that cat a lot, even though it's now 2 years since she died. On another matter: that model is fantastic!
Haha, Thank you so much and yeah! They sure are, maximus is way to big(8kg) to be allowed sitting on my work anymore 😆 Aw, such a tiny thing! ☺️ Sorry for your loss! I know how it feels, got a cat when I was 4 and he passed away 18 years later. It’s hard to lose a friend, but they never truly leave your heart ❤️
Have you ever heard of a product called Micro Krystal Klear ? It is a fluid that train and airliner model builders have used a long time to create windows. It works by taking a drop of the fluid on the end of a tooth and touching it to 4 points on the frame, on smaller windows just touch in the center. This will work on openings up to 1/4in. It can also be tinted using transparent acrylic paint. My wife and I have been working to build the castle in 1/72 in but cannot find enough info to to do this. I have the "From Book to Screen" book but lacking any info you can share with us would be most helpful.
Thank you for the tip! I shall look into it! 😄✨ I’m going to build a few other buildings, like the boathouse and owl-tower. As I think it's easier to show and tell, so I'll explain it as soon as possible 😊
Incredible! I've seen the model they actually used in the film at the London studios too, i take it this is smaller than that? You could get model railway people and modify them to add in as various characters, also would doll house lighting blocks work for lughting it up?
Thanks! 😁✨ It is maybe a little smaller than the paper model, but I'm not really sure 😄 Yeah, I have thought about it, but even the smallest one that I can get here is to big. I think the caracters would only be about 2-3mm high in this scale 🙃 Maybe it will, I have to look it up! 😄✨
Have you thought of making the diorama a little bit bigger. I really like the way it looks but a little bit bigger wouldn’t be so hard on making the small parts.
Are you keeping it the same scale or will you make it bigger? I think a little bigger would let you do more detail, but then I have No skills to build so I probably don't know what I'm talking about! But I will keep watching your videos.
For now I'm happy with it as it is, as it's so small that I actually knowingly can skip some details that otherwise would take way more time that I'd want to spend. I tend to work too long on any project anyway 😁✨
i dont understand it, I see many models like these where the bridge is connected to the other pat of the castle. but I also see many models where the bridge is like an entry point from the outside and its way longer, did they change the models throughout the movies?
Late reply, but in all movies besides Deathly Hallows 2 and Crimes of Grindelwald, the viaduct connects 2 parts of the castle (in those 2 movies, the viaduct extends to a hill)
Sorry, but as I don’t own the rights to the blueprints, I can only recommend to buy the book or borrow it at a library or a friend that might have it 😕
Thanks! 😄✨ I have no idea as I made the copy bigger than the blueprint, and I don’t know if the scale on the blueprint is accurate in the book either 🙃😁
