Speed build of a Queen Anne style Victorian mansion in The Sims 4. For this build I describe the Queen Anne style of Victorian architecture and babble on a bit about some history and social context.
This build would not have been possible without custom content, mainly: Felixandre: / posts

YT also recommended this video and I am a new fan. Please keep building these type of builds and I’ll continue to be a fan. PS I also loved the commentary.

Thank you for actually talking about the build. And more importantly talking about the style of build. Not to be rude, but I find it so annoying when builders just talk about themselves. I watch sims builds for not only to get ideas but it's also to relax. And I can't do that when I'm hearing about what they did that day. So thank you for talking about something relevant

oooh.. that cucumber server is something i never knew i needed. i'm familiar with cheese scoops. butter picks, grape shears, and most of the rest of them, but why i've never come across a cucumber server when they're my absolute favorite veg, i'll never know.

i love this build so much, im obsessed with building queen Anne houses in the sims, i do just want to say, i think the round bump out at the front is called a turret, because it dosent touch the lowest floor, and a tower does

This is the first of your videos I’ve seen, and I just subscribed. Excellent work! Victorian homes are my passion, especially Glenmore Mansion, the 1868 Second Empire that I volunteer a great deal of my time to. Every one of your facts are spot on! Especially about wallpaper. So many people restore these homes and just paint the walls, then try to pass it off as historically accurate. The wall and ceiling papers add so much to the vibe of these homes. Also stain-grade woods for trim. The era afforded new milling technology that enabled harder woods to be cut for trim, which was then shellacked. By the early 20th century, white trim came back in fashion, so a lot of the gorgeous natural wood was painted white with lead paint. And now, people keep adding layers of paint to avoid dealing with lead. It’s sad how much original character has been lost over time. But we’re finally starting to see an advent of appreciation for Victorian era homes, and a better understanding of how they should be treated. Thank goodness! Anyway, great video! 😊👍

Glenmore is GORGEOUS, how lucky that you get to spend so much time there. Wholeheartedly agree, it's heartbreaking to lose the character of historic buildings! I've got some strong opinions on preserving the integrity of historic buildings haha it's hard to see what passing trends do to some of these houses. I especially cringe when I see all the trim painted!!! Oh! And knocking down walls to create an open floor plan! Nooooooo!

Ooh you have a new subscriber right here! I love to hear about history and the history of architecture! This is definitely my favourite type of sims video! The sweet combination of educational and entertaining, no way to top that! Although I might have to watch this again because I'm not that familiar with all the technical terms (I'm not a native English speaker) and the name dropping in that sense was like machine fire at times 😅

I think you mean “victoria” because there was an Anne in England but she died young so it would be Victoria as you put the photo Victoria there.
