Building a Raspberry Pi FM Radio (si470x)

Today I use a Pi Zero together with a 3-5V level shifter and the ubiquitous si470x IC to build a Pi-controlled FM radio.
Luckily we do not need to write our own software, since some folks in the community already put together something nice:

Aren't the raspberry pi GPIO pins 3.3v? Why do you need the level shifter?

Thanks. It’s a nice project. I wish there were similarly cheap modules for DAB radio.

I do everything as you wrote and showed. Unfortunately it does not work. Errors in Python.

can you make on raspberry pi 3

It doesn’t matter which pi you take. Should work on anything from 2 up. Pi1 has a different GPIO pinout.

I hope u can make on raspberry pi 3. I doing step by step at this website tutorials-raspberrypi.com/use-raspberry-pi-as-a-radio-receiver-fm-car-radio-car-pc/. I've done everything. I test 2cdetect -y 1 it got results, but when I started, I didn't listen to anything. Pls help us. Thanks

is the output through the pi´s sound card?

Nah, it has a 3.5mm socket. You can directly connect a headphone.

@@root42 do you know how we can route the sound on the PI? In order to use that in a car radio system I use a usb sound card with audio output and a microphone for calling google now (open auto pro has implemented android auto). the best should be to mix two inputs (the si4703 output and the usb mic)
