Yea we’ve made a lot more progress. Just have to finish editing the videos to post them. As far as rot, I think the car was involved in some sort of incident with water at some point so I’m not sure if it’s more than normal. But we made it work.

the easier way to get all the angles right on your main hoop would be to put it where it's supposed to live, fixture/clamp it with spacers if you need to, then tack it. Then you could drop it or pull it back and weld it provided the space is there (like with your big holes in the floor) Another fun move is to pull the roof off, strip it and put more or less just the skin back on after it's caged. This way is great for sunroof models as you get back the extra head space, and can delete the heavy glass up top in favor of some sheet or scrap skin welded in. Love the project, I'll be caging an EJ sunroof for lemons; hopefully this season.

Lol where were you 8 months ago?? Yes that sounds like a great way to do it. I’ll keep that in mind if we end up getting a second car. Also, I’d love to see an EJ worked!!!!

Not built any roll cages before. I was surprised watching this how thick the Tube is. Is that Tube or Pipe? Lorne.

It’s a thicker pipe than we needed. Most teams use a slightly smaller pipe. We sided with the bigger cage for safety but learned we could have gone with the smaller one and it would be about the same. Next car we will go with the smaller one

No you didn't need a professional. Most lemons teams build their own. There are some things that could have been done differently. One of my biggest pet peves is welding done near the cars glass. It'll all be pitted. You learn a lot doing jobs like this yourself.
