This time we learn a whole new skill, leather sewing! Cutting out the leather, fitting it, and finally sewing it around the mast. Making lots of mistakes (and friends!) along the way...

Don't know why you don't have more likes on this - I'm really enjoying following along with your build series! Impressive work!

If I recall correctly leather shrinks a bit as it dries, so as you're drying out from your first capsize the leather bits should tighten up even a bit more :)

Nice, looks real tidy.. where did you source your epoxy's and fibreglass cloth from? I priced up roughly what i need online from an aussie boat supplier and for a 30mtr by 1mtr roll of 6ounce cloth they want more than it would cost to buy a registered 26ft trailer sailer ready to sail lol (i checked gumtree and found a few cheaper than the quote haha)

Hey thanks. I got my epoxy from ACT fibreglass supplies, and my fibreglass cloth from eBay of all places (everywhere else was pretty crazy expensive).

@@dana_pike ahh great to know, im only a few hrs away from the act and drive through often ( usually buying cars haha) yeah tbh the expensive brands of epoxy ive found to be actually reasonably priced inc delivery , so looks like ill be using hi grade epoxy's and evilbay cloth haha, thanks heaps mate..
