There is definitely a market for expensive sims houses, so no worries haha. I don't always like starting with starter homes, or I raise my main sim in a fancy house to plop them in a cheap one later for story. Or my sims get gud in their careers or get more money after a few generations and can afford a new expensive house. Expensive houses are still super appreciated haha
most people literally just cheat for money anyway. my sims live in a 9 million mansion i built like ain't anybody got time to try to earn that much through gameplay lmao
@@alexyyyw Me too! I come to build (houses, people, stories) not create a loop of capitalistically dystopian hell. So every once in a while I'll add wealth as a factor in my stories, but typically I just build them huge houses and work on building skills and pertinent experiences.
you can actually use platforms and the dog for from the pets pack. it only fits toddlers, not kids, but it's still cute. although, using normal doors you can create a smaller room with platforms so that both toddlers and kids can pass, but adults can't
@@DBT1007 the butcher thing is already realistic, given the fact that a lot of cow ranchers/farmers send their cows off to get butchered, instead of doing it themselves
@@DBT1007 ... Can't you already "exchange animal for goods" or whatever, and get like meat and some simoleons in Cottage Living? Pretty sure I saw that in a non-modded gameplay.
@@rileyplaysanimalcrossing4415 Kayla was building a three-bedroom house for her Newcrest save on a livestream, and she decided to make one of the kids bedrooms sport-themed. She got too excited about decorating it and when she found the item that has a baseball bat and a bowling ball with a box full of sport-related items, she said super excitedly "OH WE CAN PUT SOME SPORTS ON THE FLOOR!" And now I will never let her live it down lol
I love simsie ❤️ When I’m drawing I often use her as background noise, i even laugh a couple time! She’s amazing at building and she does great commentary ❤️
At around 2:08 with the curved balcony, this build looked EXACTLY like EERILY EXACTLY like the house across the street from mine when I was a kid. Unexpected massive flashbacks XD
Honestly, for storytelling purposes, if you have multiple places for your sims to eat (formal dining, breakfast table, island counter seating) making the breakfast table a chess table is fun for pretending the family just likes playing chess and keep it set up at the breakfast table. I like to think it's not necessarily a fancy chess-only table, but it's a board game they just have set up pretty much always haha.
Whenever I get bored of the game and take a break from it, it’s Kayla and her fun videos, creative challenges and podcast commentary that get me back into the swing of things ☺️ thank you Kayla! ❤️
Lol yes I live in New England and I live in a rich person neighborhood (when I tell you kids look at me like I'm homeless I mean it) and everyone has these mile long driveways leading up to bigger versions of this exact house lol
Thank you for showing the house after the speed build. It’s very much appreciated since I like to listen to your stories while you build and then at the end I can see the hard work.
Hey Lilsimsie! Your builds have changed so much over the years and I’m very glad you did an all base game house. Not everyone has the packs, so it’s great to know that great builds can be made from the basics. 🤩
Nice video!! It was so "podcast-y" I turned away from the speedbuild and just listened as I was doing my own thing in TS3. Returned to the build to see the house tour. Love catching up! Congrats on all the good stuff and don't worry...the Sims Team isn't stalking you...as far as you know! 😉
I’d much prefer a mansion that looks like this! I’d rather my sims work hard and eventually move into a house like this. Most of the EA mansions are MASSIVE and 1/2 empty
I truly want to say thank you for making these videos. I have no friends or family in real life and watching these feels like I'm talking to a friend about my favorite game.
I don't comment often but this build is actually great for a new family I have! The parents are aiming for the entertainment and culinary careers so I'm definitely gonna work towards buying this for when they have kids! I always love your builds!
i honestly love to see a more expensive build! sometimes i look for a new house for my 3rd or 4th generation families and by then my sims have a larger budget, and i always look for you builds first on the gallery when i’m looking to download a house!
Being of age and how to manage the sequence of returns in those early periods is what seems quite scary in the current market. The market is never a loser in the twenty year cycle, but the 2000s decade scenario scares me and could really disrupt my retirement. When you're no longer accumulating but withdrawing, it's hard to be anything but cautious.
@@kristyluna8527 Apparently that's true, I agree. It is mostly disastrous for newbies or anyone who doesn't adhere to a well thought-out strategy and over all, a professional broker.
Wow, I'm just shocked someone mentioned and recommended expert Mrs Diana Lynne Bobka. I thought people don't really know her. I invested £ 2,000 with Mrs Diana Lynne Bobka after i met her at a conference in London, she made me profit of £ 11,790 in just 7- 14 days of trading with her and i invested more.
idk how often you hear this, but I really appreciate how inclusive you always are with your language and character building, even when its just for a room, like this. It shouldn't be uncommon, but unfortunately it is, so I'm really glad to see one of my favorite creators doing it :)
I love seeing a more detailed, lived in build from you! I feel like you always compliment that building style in your shell challenges so it's cool to see you do the same!
I went to school with MatPat and his wife and it is really weird seeing my worlds collide with SXSW having you do a panel with him. Congrats on the panel!
To Kayla, I recently have been binge watching all your videos and I am so proud for how far you have come. From graduating collage to getting married, going through the downs and lows I want you to know that everyone here is immensely proud of you and your achievements. Your are my aspiration I look up to you, your my role model. You probably have to much to do but if you have any spare time read through the comments they make me happy to hear how others like me are so so proud of you. I cannot stress how proud I am I love you loads and I will forever be here till you decide you want to stop I’ll be here as long as I can. Lots of love Eleanor 💗
Dolly was here this year too (I live in ATX) And as for the bats, we also have an awesome wildlife bat rescue that helps injured bats from that colony and helps that colony survive. This is all why our community college's mascot is the river bats.
Videos like this is so relaxing to listen to the podcast feel where you just talk about life recently while there’s a speed build playin i enjoyed this so much Kayla thanks
this is a better version of a similar house you made 4 months ago! I’m glad you revisited a similar idea and improved it! love this build Kayla thank you for making it super accessible for everyone❤️
Hi Kayla! I know there’s no way you’ll ever end up reading this but i just wanted to blurt it to the void anyways. I’ve been really scared to go to college recently and being away from friends and family, and your videos/streams bring me a lot of comfort! I’ve been watching for several years now so it’s kind of like i’ll always have a family wherever i am. Thanks for being you!❤️
Very proud of you for speaking! And I love your speed build monologs. My bestie and I will play lotro and chat the entire time and this is what they remind me of. ❤
It’s crazy that you can make the base game items (which mostly aren’t cute in my opinion, I’m sorry) look this good. Crazy! This honestly might be one of your most impressive builds to me. That backyard is stunning
Im British, I have a completely different accent to Kayla, But when I listen to her speak it just feels... normal. I could listen to her all day without realising" Oh she sounds very different to me" It is almost like a safe space, I suppose that is how the Sims 4 makes a lot of people feel. I love watching her videos and I am always entertained an happy. Like I said it just feels normal listening to her, Like just a sound going on and on , And I mean that in a nice way.
In another video you mentioned you didn't understand why the TV would be in the middle of the room, with the couch against the wall. So, I challenge you to make a house/apartment designed for a sim(s) who's uncomfortable having their back to open spaces. Using tall walls, dividers, tall solid furniture (in rl we have a row of lockers separating our living room from the office) behind couches, chairs, anywhere a sim would specifically be standing at for a while (stove, preparation counter, sink, easel, etc.). Places that are only briefly grabbing/dropping off something (fridge, bookshelf) are probably fine. I think it would be interesting to go at it with a different approach and thinking than you're used to, and change up some of your design habits. Maybe the side of the house will have different nooks for different purposes. The kitchen could be a galley kitchen, or if you want an island, make it double wide, so the stove, sink, etc. faces the bar stools. I think it would be most challenging to your style to not just make a tiny house/apartment that doesn't normally have extra walking space anyway, but to do a more spacious lot, maybe with a more traditional frame/outline, but modified inside to suit the sims needs
I'm such a simp for BaseGame houses or Limited Pack builds for the Gallery.. Every time I do a 'free build' I end up using like 31 packs and I can't see everyone owning all of them ahahaha
i use base game furniture really rarely like.. i don’t really like how it looks (but exactly there are things that only are in the base game). so i really love your videos because you do masterpieces with base game like me never… (and i study english by your videos
I remember at one time I had just base game and I finally got other things. Now I have: Expansion Packs: 1. Get Famous 2. Cats & Dogs 3. City Living Game Packs: 1. Dine Out Stuff Packs: 1. Tiny Living 2. Laundry Day And I love all of them so much lol
In Thailand in my mom's hometown, there's a food market very close to a bat cave. So every evening you could buy some delicious Thai food and have a picnic and wait for the bats to come out. It's a pretty cool experience.
For whatever reason, this house is really reminding me of the hilltop mansion in The Original Sims game. This is really tapping into my deep nostalgia for being a middle schooler spending hours on the family computer playing The Sims. 😊😊
15:40 We don't have a chess table, but we do have a really nice glass chess set on our dining room table. My brother used to play competitive chess, so my mom bought it for him to practice with. He doesn't play any more, but it's still really pretty, so it sits there as decoration.
Just wanna say I love the chatty, catch up videos. Honestly I love all your content, but it’s always great to hear what you’ve been up to and how you are. 💜💜💜
I appreciate Kayla being conscious of keeping things affordable, starter home, etc, but I would also LOVE to see more builds where she just has fun too. No money restrictions, no worrying about packs, just deciding to build something in particular and just enjoying that. I’ve never seen a build and thought, if only that were base game/affordable. The Sims was made for cheaters lol, if we like a house, we’re gonna have the house.
Kayla I love your speed builds because not only do you talk about some fields but you talk about yourself I really appreciate you posting every day and you’re by far my favorite RU-vid I know you probably get a ton of comments but maybe can you ping me but I’m just asking you don’t have to. Anyways I really think that you have a lot of guts to confront people like that in public speak keep on Filming.
FREAKING EARLY OMG! Btw may i day dear simsie, I LOVE just hearing your voice while I'm playing the Sims 4 for hours on end.. just heard your videos for the entire day today! Thank you for having like the best voice for playing the sims(for me at least). Have a nice day!
the shape of this house reminds me of the first house i ever built in the sims 4. obviously this looks better than mine lol. i used a 3 tile wide staircase and put at least 2 windows in every single room
Very good option for Rose Gen in your Not So Berry Challenge 😀 I think I will use it for that, thanks! Sidenote, me reading comments right now and anything remotely negative and remembering Kayla literally has ~sensitive~ merch and I'm like, "don't talk to my bestie like that!" lol
Idea? Maybe? Every room is a different pack but each “room” is a tiny house village placed onto one big lot. Sounds weird but entertaining (not my idea, just simply spreading it because i like it)
